Sweat covered my body as I tried to wake from this endless nightmare. My eyes transported me into a place where the word hope didn't exist. I don't know what it was, but I saw it. The plane losing control, all of us screaming desperately, the plane shaking from side to side, my throat going numb... Suddenly, there was a loud sound and the left side of the plane opened as if someone had grabbed a piece of metal from the plane and smashed it. The wind blew extremely hard, and snatched the seats out of the plane along with the passengers. Everyone screamed in desperation as the wind took each passenger one by one. The pupil of my eyes couldn't hold it anymore, I wanted to open my eyes but I couldn't. Why am I having all these nightmares? I wondered. Then, I heard a sweet and delicate voice inside my head- or maybe it wasn't inside my head- calling my name...

"Annie, Annie!!"

When the plane finally burst into flames and exploded covering my face with fire, that's when my eyes opened.

"Annie, are you ok?"

My breath was intense and my heartbeat was like the sound of a washing machine when it's in spin cycle. I couldn't speak. My brain couldn't put any words together and make a sentence, not even a syllable. But when I looked into Cody's blue eyes, my heartbeat softened.

It was May 29, 2008. I wasn't sure who I was, or where I was. I could only remember the exact date because that was when the tragedy happened. That tragedy that will haunt me forever until the day I die. Just remembering the panic, the horror, the fire, I still get chills and my body shivers from head to toe. I can't blame myself because if it wasn't for me there wouldn't be any survivors.

I'm glad Emily is still here; I don't know what I would do without her. I met Emily in the 2nd grade and we've been best friends ever since. Cody has also been one of my closest friends in High School. We are so close that sometimes I start having feelings about him.

I found myself at the police office where Officer Scott was interrogating me about the incident. I had a panic attack and I was extremely nervous; I couldn't stop moving my legs.

"So tell me Ms. Gray, what did you see?" Officer Scott said.

"I don't even know where to start," I answered decently.

"From the beginning perhaps," he said.

"Ok! Let me tell you the story from the very beginning."

My name is Annie Gray, I'm a senior at Oakwood High School in Vancouver Washington. Life here isn't very nice, since Jessica rules the school with her glamorous looks and expensive clothes. I would do anything to get her out of my way. And there's her twin brother, Jake. He is just as obnoxious as her. If there's anything good around here it's called Ian. He is the most popular guy in school and all the girls want to date him with the exception of me. I am not into that kind of thing. I am more concentrated on school and my two best friends, Emily and Cody.

It all started when my teachers decided to plan a trip to Miami Florida for the graduating seniors. There are two things that I hate: trips and the beach. I wasn't going to go but Emily and Cody persuaded me and I finally agreed. Since it's my last year in high school, why not give it a chance?

Emily and I were the first ones to arrive at the airport. We looked around trying to find someone we knew, but no one was there, except for a few people who were waiting for their flight. It was 6:00 a.m. and my dad had dropped us off and left us thinking Mrs. Greenburg and Mr. Collins were already there. He said that we are old enough to take care of ourselves.

"Well, on the bright side we can do whatever we want until someone arrives," Emily said.

"Emily, what can we do in an airport other than sit, eat and wait?" I asked.
