"There's nothing holding me back! You take me places that tear up my rep-!" I shut the radio off.
"Hey! You interrupted my singing!" Emily whined.
I roll my eyes at her antics. "I am sick and tired of that song. Don't get me wrong. I love Shawn Mendes, but it's too over played," her mouth falls open as I resist the urge to laugh. "Besides, I need to get started on my physics assignment that is due tomorrow. I can't do that while various music is being blasted each time I get an idea," I glared at my roommate.
"That's not my problem," she shrugged. "You should have done it before hand."
"I just got it today. Besides my last class ends at ten-fifteen," we both turn to the clock. "Its just now ten-thirty."

This is what university does to you. Most of the times, a lot of my assignments, homework, etc, is due the same day, if not the next. My first class starts at One pm which gives me enough time to sleep in the morning. However, my last class ends at Ten-fifteen pm. By the time I get to our apartment, it's already half-past ten.
Which also means that most of the time I'm up till three in the morning trying to finish my work. It's exhausting.
All this time, I thought high school was hard. Not much for the studies but just the work and the heavy backpacks we had to carry. However, high school is nothing compared to university.

"Anyways, you going to the party on Saturday?" she cheers up.

I give her a deadpanned look. "Do you really think I have the strength to get out of this bed, unless it has anything to do with work? No!"
"You know? Usually when you ask someone a question, you are not suppose to answer it yourself," she replied instead.
This girl.

"I'm just suggesting it to get your mind off of the stress. Besides, I heard there are going to be seniors, hot seniors," she sang a loud.
It wouldn't hurt to take a break, right?
"Whatever, I'll think about it. For now, if you don't mind, I need to get started on my assignment."
"You nee to chill. You are always so focused on studies that you don't even make time for your family or me, or anyone."

Ouch.

topic.
Last week was a long weekend so we could get a little break from exams. Every single student went to visit their families. Everyone but me. I didn't think it was important. They wouldn't notice me either ways. They are much happier now that I'm gone.

When Emily got to know that I didn't leave, she was upset. Let's just say, she is a big believer in family. She thinks they are very important and always comes first. She believes that all families love each and that they always lived happily, blah.
It may be true sometimes, but not in my case. In my case, you just stay in your room until someone calls you because they need you to do something for them.
"You stilldidn't tell me why you didn't go?" She continued her angry confrontation towards me.
"Come on," I sighed rubbing my temple. "We both are freshman in university. As soon as we have a break for anything, we get double the work once it's over. I just wanted to be prepared and be ready. Besides, I have all the time in the world to meet my family. They can wait."
Emily rolled her eyes, mumbling a "whatever." Before letting out a huge yawn, without covering her mouth, as she slipped inside her sheets of her bed.

I haven't done that in a long time.

I let out a sigh before focusing on my physics assignment. I just need to do five pages on 'what would I include in a app made by myself?' Sounds like an easy topic, however, extremely stressful to come up with such ideas.
Before Icould write a phrase on my paper, there was a knock on our apartment door.
Are you fudging kidding me? Why can't I do anything in peace?
I waited a few minutes, so Emily would wake up get that.
The person once again knocked but none of us made a move towards get up.

Another knock.

"Would you just get the fucking door already?!" Emily suddenly yelled taking the covers off her face and sitting up right.
I jumped at her sudden movement. "Me? You are more closer to the door."
"You were awake!" she angrily pointed out.
"So were you!" I accused.

The person knocked on the door for what seemed like the umpteenth time.
"Fuck you! I'll just go," she declared standing up from her bed.
I would've stopped her since her now bed hair is everywhere. Sticking out from random places while there was a scowl on her face. I suddenly felt bad for the person that was about to confront her like this. It was too funny.
As funny as it was, I couldn't exactly blame her. Why would anyone be here at this time. Usually, people never come to our apartment after eight. When they do it's usually because they want me to help them in any work or talk to Emily about something.
"What the fu- oh! Hey!" Emily squeaked.

I couldn't see who it was because Emily's body was covering the sight. Minutes later, Emily was having a happy conversation with whomever ever was standing in front of her. I knew it was a guy for sure. Not only because of the manly voice, but because of the expressions Emily was giving out.
She was smiling and popped her hip out.
That's not the Emily I know and love.

"Oh! Okay! Bye, see you on Saturday then. Yeah, I'll bring her too," was all I heard before she shut the door and locked it.
"Who was that?" I asked with a weird expression.
I really need to focus on my physics.
"Oh, him?" She waved me off. "He was just an old friend I made a long time ago. Like we were in the same grade school till eight. But then he moved and now apparently he was stalking me."
My weird expression grew weirder as I kept staring at her.
"What?"
"Why are you red?"
"I'm not! He ju- he got cuter, okay?! A-and he also requested us to come to the party I was talking about," she squeaked out.
"Let me get this straight. A guy knocked on the door at ten-forty five, almost dealt with your cursing, conversed with you about being in your middle school and admitted that he stalked you, inviting you to the party and didn't comment on your hair?!"
She looked at me confused for a second. "Now is not the time to joke around about my amazing hair, Kat!"

I shrugged my shoulders and once again focusing back on my assignment.
I heard her footsteps following the washroom and I couldn't help the smirk that slipped onto my mouth.
"Oh. My. God!"
That'sthe exact moment where I wish I was deaf.
