It was a little after 5 when Rece and Lira finally showed up with Starbucks coffees in their hand

Re handed me one of the coffees in her hand smiling "Cheer up I got you one too"

I took it from her putting it on the table "Why you guys late?"

"Stopped to get coffee after dropping Izzy at my parents house" Re said shrugging

"Okay well me and Brit started and we're basically almost done, she went to go bring Royalty and Marie to August's house but the only things we have left to finish are the brownies which the oven is preheated already and the casseroles, so I guess you guys could pick who should do what and I'll go take a shower?"

They nodded before I went upstairs

As I walked away I heard them whispering to each other

I felt left out a lot especially since us ladies never spent time like this in such a long time

I ignored it and proceeded to the washroom.

After my 20 minute shower and washed my hair

I damped my hair with a towel before combing threw my wet natural curls

I threw on a bummy outfit I already picked out then finished off my look with some light natural makeup because I was too lazy to cake it on

I checked the time seeing it was 5:47 which meant my parents, Trey, Chris, Trav, & Chandra would be arriving really soon

I know what you're thinking... inviting August's family is a bad mistake but it's not like that, Chandra and I grew to be very close friends because our girls are family

Trav is Mar's Uncle and Re's man I couldn't not invite him

I went downstairs seeing the food prepared on the table and everything set up

I looked around but couldn't seem to find the girls

Making my way closer to my backyard I heard heavy whispering almost as if someone was mad

I spotted Brit with her hands folded across her chest speaking to someone but I couldn't yet see

As I got closer I then spotted Rece, Lira, and Cam

He looked like he had just came home because of his bags and basketball still in his hands not to mention he was still dressed in his coat

I cracked my backyard door open more so they could notice me

They quickly cut the conversation short as they all starred my way

I obviously had a confused look on my face but Rece quickly tried to adjust the tenseness "That took long enough Lee, Cam needed to shower before everyone arrived. You could go now Cam" She smiled at him awkwardly

The doorbell rang but it was too awkward at the moment for anyone to move

Lira stood alongside me with an upset look on her face, Brit had her arms still folded beside Lir, Rece sat there with her head down, while Cam stood there hugging his basketball like he was in disbelief about something

At this time I blanked out on the doorbell and I was so confused as to what I probably wanted or didn't want to hear from them all

After a few more rings Lira got up and quickly passed me to get the door

Cam then took this as his opportunity to head upstairs and get ready for his shower

I laughed cause I was now curious to know what's going on "Okay well I don't know what you guys have planned but cut it out now what's going on?" I laughed it off trying my best not to sound awkward

Brit and Re looked between each other then away somewhere else

"We're all just catching up, after that harsh split between you and Cam we just wanted to make sure he still has all his priorities in check before tying the knot" Brit shrugged

I nodded not knowing whether to believe it or not but I have no reason not to

I looked among Re that still kept her head down

She wouldn't lie especially not to me so I questioned her to double check that's the truth "Is that right Re?" I asked

She looked up giving me a small smile and nodded

I heard noises coming from the kitchen peeking my head in and seeing that my parents had now arrived along with everyone else

I looked at Brit and pointed to them all so she could head inside "Everyone's here, could you get everything ready?"

"Sure girl, you coming Rece?" Brit said heading towards the door but had now stopped

Re attempted to get up and follow her but I gently pushed her shoulders back down to signal her to stay back

Brit looked at Re and rose her eyebrows then looked back ahead of her

Whatever that meant

Once I heard the door shut I turned to Re and asked her the question again once more "That was the truth y'all going with Re?"

"Yes Lee that's the truth now can we have this conversation later?"

I sighed before dismissing her because there is simply nothing to talk about if she really wasn't going to talk to me about whatever they all discussed

I couldn't get over the fact how mad Lir looked kinda like she wanted to fight someone I just don't know what to take that as but whatever it was I was worried for her

I took it among myself to think about this as something positive because so many things were running through my head at the moment I had to give myself a reason to be happy at my dinner

Maybe they're planning a surprise party or soon to be gender reveal baby shower

I don't know but whatever it is I hope it turns out to their favour

Just experienced something so upsetting and nerve racking

My story somehow got deleted and I couldn't find it, thought I lost it so I had to contact the Wattpad Support Team where they told me give them a little time to look into it but I promised continuous updates so I couldn't wait

Luckily to my advantage I came on Wattpad and there my story was... like it never been touched

My heart y'all

I'm scared for something like this to happen again so as of now whenever I write a chapter i'll post them right away
