The Forbidden Kingdom

Prologue

It all started when I was younger.

I was told that I was the only one who can protect them.

They trained me every day until I was eighteen.

Once I turned eighteen, they threw me into the heart of all the kingdoms itself, Enowa. The kingdom ruled by the oldest princess herself, Saotome Kina. She made sure that all the kingdoms were up and running, so that we wouldn't fall. Despite her rough exterior, she's a very nice person. She just really cares.

Still. I haven't met her yet. I'm just going off of what Prince Jacob said. Prince Jacob is another prince who runs, well, another kingdom. The kingdom of Juno. He's a kind, simple guy, but sometimes he's just a little too overbearing. Sometimes a bit intimidating. But besides that, I don't really pay him any mind.

Ah, what am I saying, I'm getting off track.

Once I turned eighteen, I stayed in Enowa at the abandoned temple site. Some may call it creepy. But I find it, relaxing, if that's what you want to call it. Being trained the way that I was, I had to learn how to involve myself in a spiritual way.

So I learned how to heal.

If anything, the temple was the best place to learn this. Of course, I wasn't the only one there. The caretaker of the temple taught wonderfully for her old age, and taught me things I never really thought I could do.

Once she told me, "No matter how much you think you can't do it, you can. I believe in you with all my might. If you put your mind to it, anything is possible."

Advice that I'll never forget. 

But sadly. This is when all hell broke loose.

The temple was attacked by these dark oily-like figures that killed the caretaker in mere seconds. Quickly, I fought them off, but it didn't matter. I tried to heal her, I really did. She was just too far gone...

I was going to report to the princess, but the guards refused to let me in.

I heard screaming.

I heard crying.

I heard sharp yelps of pain.

I told them I could help whoever needs it, because of my healing ability, but yet they refused. I swiftly bought a steed from a local villager and reported to The Kingdom of Juno. There I met up with Prince Jacob, who seemed shocked about the news.

"Dark oily figures? No... It couldn't be them... Not at this time..." he stated worriedly.

"What can I do to help?" I quickly responded, trying to make sense of the situation.

By then everything changed.

I was given instructions to protect the nine kingdoms and their rulers.

"Sir, what's going on?" I asked.

"I don't really know, myself, but if they'll attack a holy temple, they'll go after us. Now go. I'll tell the others that you're on your way." He said, quickly trying to push me out.

"What do I even do?" I ask, before he pushes me put of the door. 

"You'll know when the time comes. Now go. Protect the others."

With a final shove he pushed me out the door, closing it afterwards. Something about him seemed off. I decided to find my own way out of the castle and into the village. It was surprisingly windy out, considering it was hot earlier.

Now my duty starts here. Protecting the kingdoms and their rulers:

Princess Giselle and the Kingdom of Maewa

Duke Kurou and the Kingdom of Jauhi

Duchess Riley and the Kingdom of Calane

Princess Skylar and the Kingdom of Deina

Princess Kassie and the Kingdom of Spira

Duchess Koitsu and the Kingdom of Reia

I have a lot of work to do.

Oh? You're still here?

You must be wondering about myself then.

Well my name is Ren Maki.

My hair is brown and my eyes are blue.

I'm kinda tall, maybe 5'9?

I carry around a sword and a bow just in case anything happens.

Honestly, I'm not much of a fighter, but I'll do what I'll have to do.

What do I wear? I wear armor like this:

I don't belong to a specific kingdom yet, so I stick with the cyan 'healer' color.

And finally, do I have a favorite prince or princess? No, I've barely met them all, how could I pick a favorite?
