Raven Eclipse

Prologue

"I won't allow you to do this. Please"

"I need to finish the incantation, Sara. I'm doing this to save the bloodline."

"Release our son. I command this as the leader. I'm pleading as your wife."

It's so dark here, yet I can feel the comfort of the silk woven cloth embracing me and the calmness that the wooden bed brings forth to my skin. The moonlight strikes through the only window in the room, and the July night breeze breathes the life of the entire room as I've heard these two voices that pierce through the bamboo wall. The woman's voice is erratic and shaky, it's as if she has been weeping for hours, despite having that superior tone. The tranquil winds and the sorrowful music of her voice made my heart crumple.

A few silent minutes have passed, and the wooden door opened with an errie, creaking sound. I looked over and saw two silhouettes. The one on the left has a huge frame, muscular and has the eyes filled with void, it's as if you're staring into eternal hole. The other one has a long, silver hair that shines like a diamond with the moonlight, about shoulder level of the huge man, and her teary-eyes are shouting regret and demise that resound through the whole room.

Both of them went near me without making any sound aside from their footsteps and heavy breathing. As their bodies blocked the moonlight that glimmer, the woman started to orate something incomprehensible to me.

"Perdonami figlio, perché ho peccato."

She drew out a knife from her robe, heaved it at the top, and mercilessly thrusted it on my chest. As it penetrated right through my heart, blood started to gush out and I started to feel the excruciating pain. I watched her pull the cold knife out of my heart as she bursts into tears. The paroxysm and agony is filling my whole body as my mind slowly goes blank and I breathe my last air.

"Ring. Ring."

Damn, it was a dream. Again.
