Hailey's P.O.V

"Yeah I'm sure, it's okay." I tried to sound like him bailing on me for the third time this week hasn't affected me.

"Thanks Hal, so we can just hang out Friday, right?" Nick asked as his voice came through a little muffled on the phone.

"Yeah, Friday." I frowned into the phone.

"See you Friday then." I could tell he was smiling.

"Yeah, see you." I said as I quickly before hanging up.

Nick is my best friend. We used to see eachother every day until the end of high school and now that we are in college I rarely see him.

We live 10 minutes away from eachother but since we graduated, it's felt like he has moved across the whole world.

I sighed as I put my phone down.

I looked blankly at the Japan poster I had in my room, it was our plan to go this summer but once again he bailed because his best friend had invited him elsewhere.

I felt the bed dip and I turned over to see my older brother sitting down beside me.

"Jackson" I said as I propped myself up.

"Hal" he said mimicking the way I just spoke.

I frowned and rolled my eyes, "What do you want?" I asked him.

"He bailed again?" He asked.

"No" I lied as I threw myself back in bed.

He sighed and he got back up, "He isn't worth it"  looked at me seriously.

I blushed but looked away, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Hal" he laughed, "We both know what I'm talking about."

"I don't like him" I said sternly as I looked at him, "We've been through this. I just hate when he cancels on me." I sighed in frustration.

"I was going to say you don't deserve his friendship, you made it about you liking him" he smirked before raising an eyebrow.

"Stop! I don't- just leave me alone." I raised my voice slightly. I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks.

He laughed, "Your loss. I was gonna ask if you wanted to go eat frozen yogurt with me, but oh well."

I glared at him and he stared back at me with the same intensity.

"What?" He asked.

"Nothing." I said as I looked away from him, "Just get me a plain frozen yogurt with all the raspberries you can find." I mumbled as I threw myself back into the bed.

"Whatever my jealous sister wants" he teased as he walked out of my room.

I'm not jealous. I just hated when Nick cancelled plans to go hang out with someone else.

I rolled my eyes but didn't say anything because I really did want that yogurt.

What am I supposed to do now?

I looked around my room, not knowing what to do with myself. I knew there was chores I could probably be doing, but I know I would just wait until the last minute.
