Greenlight

"Kalvin!"

"Kalvin wake up!"

I hear my sister scream from her door.

"Brent is here."

I immediately open my eyes and fling my covers off of my body. Right as I stand up Brent walks into my doorway.

I glance over at my iHome and realize that today is June 15. Brent and I's 2 year anniversary.

"You look beautiful." he smiles.

I look to my right at my full length mirror and see that I'm wearing blue jean high waisted shorts with a flowy crop top and converses.

"Haha you're funny." I joke.

He pulls a small box out of his left pocket.

"I got you something."

I smile and look him in the eyes. He opens the tiny black box up and reveals a ring.

"Here's my promise to you." he smiles showing his perfectly straight teeth.

"Brent, I-" he cuts me off.

"I love you." and kisses me.

Brent is a Junior in high school. This year I graduated and left him behind.

"As much as I'd love to spend this beautiful day with you, I can't." he sighs.

"My dad and I are taking a road trip to see my aunt in Oklahoma. I thought maybe this would cover for me."

"Definitely. I love you so much." I smile and kiss him.

"Well I have to go. I'll see you next week and I've got a date planned for us." he kisses me and he's off.

Brent made my last two years of high school amazing. When I was little I had always dreamed of meeting the perfect guy and Brent was everything. Tall, brunette, blue eyes, abdominal muscles.

The definition of perfect.

Aubrey, Anna, and I had planned on going to a graduation party. Even though graduation was almost a months ago, it was still a party (who would give up that offer?)

I slip on a pair of white shorts and a loose tank.
