It's finally Friday and my first week of college is almost over. Feeling good about how the week has gone, I decide to ditch studying and watch netflix because Lox will most likely be out partying. I grab my bag and I leave early, stopping by the café to grab a coffee to get an extra jump start on the day.
"Lexi right?" a girls voice says behind me as I wait in line. I turn around and see the blue haired girl from the party. I think Lox said her name was Bree.
"Yeah" I answer and turn back around.
"Are you coming to the party tonight?" she asks. Sighing, I turn back around and shake me head. "You should, it's going to be awesome" she says and smiles as her tiny fingers run over a large tattoo on her forearm.
"Too bad, I know Matt wanted to see you" she says and I can't help but laugh. "What? he was talking about you yesterday"
"I doubt that... and even if he was, I'm not looking for a relationship right now" I tell her, causing her smile to grow.
She was about to say something as u hear my name called. My order is ready and I quickly grab my hot coffee cup and walk away.
They day has been great so fat. Jacob and I have been meeting by the bookstore to walk to literature together. Her is leaning against the brick wall and as I reach him he greets me with a big smile.
"I am leaving about thirty minutes into the class today, I am flying home for the weekend" he tells me.
'That's so exciting!" I tell him, maybe I should go home for the weekend. After all, my moms house is only three hours away, but I don't have a car to drive there yet.
As promised, Jacob leaves thirty minutes into the class, and suddenly I am aware that Nash is sitting next to me. In college, we can sit wherever we wan, in a different chair everyday if you want. But for some reason Nash sits next to me every time, probably just to annoy me.
"We will begin our week long discussion of Jane Austen's, Pride and Prejudice, starting tomorrow" professor Lindberg announced just as the class ends. I can't help my huge grin, I love this novel.
"Let me guess, you just love Mr.Darcy" Nash says in a mocking tone as I walk outside.
"Actually yes I do" we reach the intersection and I look both ways before crossing the street.
"Of course you do" he laughs, continuing to follow me.
"I am sure you aren't able to comprehend Mr.Darcy's appeal my mind goes back the the massive collection if books in Nash's room. They couldn't have been his, could they?
"A man who is rude and intolerable being made into a romantic hero? it's ridiculous if Elizabeth has any sense, she would have told him to fuck off," I laugh at his choice of words, but cover my mouth. I was actually enjoying talking to him, hut it would just be a matter of time before he starts with the hateful comments again.
He has a grin in his face and I can't help but notice how good looking he is. Piercings and everything. He has these cute freckles and the most amazing smile ever.
"So you do agree that Elizabeth is an idiot?" he raises his eyebrow.
"No, she is one of the strongest most complex character ever written" I defend. He laughs again and I join him. Something flashes in his eyes and he stops laughing.
"I will see you around Alexia" he says and turns around. What is with him?
When I get back to the dorm, Lox is getting ready for the party tonight I assume. I log into netflix and browse the movies.
"I really wish you would come, I swear we won't stay long this time. Just come for a little bit. Watching netflix all alone in this room is a bit boring, don't ya think?" she whines and I laugh. She continues to beg me while she teases her hair and chooses between three different dresses. A red dress, black dress, and a blue dress. She ends up picking the red dress that has slits up the sides, exposing her body. The color of the dress compliments her ginger hair and I gotta say, it looks good.
I envy over her confidence. I know I have a decent body, but I'm just not comfortable with my body the way she is. She can literally pull off anything and looks good in everything. Also, while I try to hide my cleavage, she draws as much attention to it as possible.
"I know, I just... ugh! what the heck!" I yell at my laptop screen as it turns black. I try to turn it of and on, but it's not responding.
"It's a sigh that you should come. My laptop is in Cameron's room, so you can't use mine," she smirks. I really don't want to sit in the dorm alone without anything to do or watch.
"Fine, but we are leaving before midnight" I groan and she jumps up and down frantically clapping her hands.
