Pipe tobacco. Cigar smoke.
At young I first coughed and choked
Coughed and choked, gasping for air
And the smoke shifted through my hairBreathe dammit breathe, it's your one job to do
But the smoke in my lungs was nothing but cruelBut 4 years have aged bringing me to 21
But Life herself, has experienced me 14 years, pain and fears
21, one zero zero one, 1001 and done
21 of years, 1001 of cigarettes and tearsIn the smoke I see, them, what has been done and me
All grey and worn, but in the smoke I'm more than free
Free to breathe, before the smoke came to choke
And in my veins the nicotine seethes and Life's nothing but a jokeShe's been angered with me and I beg and I plea
Give me the power to breathe and the grey to let go of me
"Under power mine" she said
"You're under the obedience of smoke and nothing but wine"My skin grew cold... my skin grew grey
The air blew at me as if to blow me away.Just breathe, just breathe, smoking is in the air
Smoking is breathing in this shameful affair.
I found company in love and companionship in wine
Because that deep red potion, there lays the deepest eyes... the love of mine12/17 E.L. Faso
