Chapter 26: Lexi's POV:
The day, like most, began with me getting ready for school. Doing my usual day to day routine of practically not giving a crap while I prepared to go to a place that I was meant to give a crap about. I walked down to the kitchen in search of some sort of food to stop my stomach's growling. When I had opened my fridge I was too scared to close it as I heard the clicking of heels against the hardwood floors instantly making me regret my decision of eating at home instead of picking something up on my way to school.
My Mother stood on the other side of the refrigerator waiting for the door to close to lecture me on something, I could just feel it. You know what I'm talking about, that gut-wrenching feeling in the pit of your stomach informing you something is clearly wrong, well I was feeling that right now, actually wait I think that's just hunger pains, but who knows it might be a mixture of both.
I reluctantly close the door to the fridge to be met with the evilest glare given by my one and only Mother. We had a glare off for what felt like ever but she broke it first as she took in the outfit I was wearing today. I had on a black strapless top that clung to my body perfectly as well as black jeans that were completely destroyed and covered in rips, to top it off I had on my red leather jacket and a pair of my red doc martens.
"What has happened to you?" she says first breaking the overwhelming silence. "you used to be so pretty and perfect and now your just...your just...a mess" When my Mother says this I feel nothing but rage. How could she say something like that to her own daughter?
"You should know that I was never perfect and do you wanna know why, because if I were to be perfect I would have amazing parents but last time I checked your nothing but a cheater who lives a double life, both of them nothing but fake," I say practically screaming at her. She looks at me with her mouth wide open completely speechless, she goes to say something but closes her mouth still left with nothing to say, she does this multiple time until she finally speaks.
"How...How do you know about that?" she asks me looking slightly fearful.
"What know about how you cheated on my father with a random guy at a bar, well let's just say you should be careful where you leave your phone Mother," I say with my voice dripping with hatred.
"You cannot tell your father," she says, her eyes pleading for me to not tell him.
"and why should I listen to you?" with that I storm out of the room completely ditching the idea of going to school. I don't bother going back into the kitchen to get my keys because that means I have to face my Mother again and I honestly don't ever want to do that so I walk out of the house and take my time as I walk down the street to nowhere in particular but anywhere that is away from the place that I used to call home.
