"It's freezing out here"
"Welcome to Cleveland" I said laughing at Trent.
We had finally made it to Cleveland for Christmas and it was freezing outside. It was definitely winter time here. There were white blankets of snow covering the ground everywhere and only 10 degrees But I was pretty used to it considering I lived here most of my life.
"I've never seen this much snow in my life"
"Trust me you don't want to"
"I kind of like it though , it gets you in the holiday spirit" Trent said as he opened the rental car door for me.
"That's the only thing it's good for, but here you'll see snow until the spring rolls around" I told Trent as I put on my seatbelt and we pulled out of the parking garage.
"Well we're only here for a week so we won't be seeing it for too long" Trent joked as we made our way to my grandmas.
We were going to be staying with her this trip since she was living in her house by herself now. I'm sure she would enjoy our company especially Trent's because since the first time she met him she's loved him and Trent felt the exact same.
"So do we have anything special planned tonight" Trent asked as he got onto the highway.
"Not that I know of. Everybody's probably just going to come over later, same as usual." I told Trent.
Every time we came to visit it was the same routine. We'd go to wherever we were staying for the trip then go to my grandmas where all of my family would eventually end up meeting, then we'd all sit and talk all night.
"That's fine with me, you know I love chilling with your family" Trent said as we made our way down my grandmas street and pulled in the driveway.
"Let me call her" I said calling my grandmothers house phone knowing she wouldn't answer her cell phone.
"Hello" she said picking up the phone.
"Hey grandma we're here you can open the door." I said getting out of the car.
"Okay I'm coming" she said hanging up the phone.
I stood on the porch waiting for my grandma to open the door while Trent got the bags out of the trunk. After a few minutes of waiting my grandma soon opened the door letting me in. At 73 she still looked good and got around pretty good.
"Hey grandma" I said hugging her opening the door.
"Hey Sarah" she said returning the hug. "Come on in here" she said leading me into the dining room.
I took my seat and looked around. Everything looked the exact same as it did every since if was a child.
"Grandma when are you going to take down that wallpaper" I said laughing.
She was the only person I knew who still had wallpaper up on the wall.
"I've been trying to find somebody to do it but I ain't in no rush" she said taking her seat in the chair next to mine.
"Where's your husband at" she asked as she got comfortable.
"He's coming he's getting the bags out the trunk" I began to tell her. As soon as I said that Trent was walking in the house with two of my many suitcases.
"How you doing ma'am" Trent said going over to hug my grandmother.
"I'm good and you" she said hugging Trent and then sitting back down.
"I'm doing good, you're looking good and young" he said smiling and taking a seat next to me.
After talking for a good 30 minutes I heard the door open and then seen my mother appear.
