"June, you know Dimitri, right?" Olivia smirked, looking at me.
Sometimes I wonder why i was friends with her at all.
"Yeah. Olivia, I think I'm going to go home, I feel sick." I mumbled.
I listened to her shouts of protest, but I was already walking along the beach.
I knew what would happen. She'd call me late tonight, I'd say I was buys, she'd tell me it was important. She'd tell me everything that had happened with Dimitri, but not in detail. That was one of the things I didn't understand. I was ridiculously observant, I could sense unease or guilt. I always knew if someone was lying. But Olivia can hardly tell happy from sad.
I slid my bronze key through the keyhole, and turned it to the right. The white door opened, and immediately I heard a voice.
"I honestly don't know where she could be! This isn't like June at all! So she didn't turn up for any of her afternoon lessons. I do apologise, as soon as I find her, I will call you!"
I heard my Mum groan. I pulled my key out of place, and shut the door behind me, as I thought of somewhere else I could go.
Sweets. I thought,
I need to get away somewhere where there is sweets.
So booking it away from my front porch I got myself motivated for the half an hour walk to the local candy store.
What shall I get while I'm there, I dont really feel like chocolate even though its my go-to food when upset, or just down. I feel like caramel, I think I'll get a caramel slice!
That will be great! With my steps becoming faster, I reached the candy shop in no time! As the little bell went off as I opened the door, the shop assistant looked up at me.
"Dimitri, customer" The lady called out, I shrugged it off and started browsing.
Even though I'd decided I wanted a caramel slice.. with all this pretty wrappers around me, i just had to check them out! I was looking at the mint slices intently when one of the shop assistants asked me if I needed a hand, I'm guessing it was the guy that the first shop assistant called for. What was his name again? Dimitri.. haha! Imagine if it was the Dimitri I knew! How embarrassing would that be! But he wouldn't work in a little lolly shop he's too 'cool' for that.
He cocked up an eyebrow "I was just on my lunch break... what'd you think I was wagging school or something"
I nodded slowly, "Well thats what me and Olivia thought" I confessed, shyly.
He smirked, "So you and Olivia talk about me hey"
My face blew up red and I took a step back,
"No we don't!" He smirked some more while taking a step towards me,
"I wonder what you talk about" He put his hand on his chin a thinking gesture "Perhaps how attractive I am? Or maybe you and Olivia have a crush on me?"
I balled my fists up and struck them down by my sides "We don't!"
He laughed, "It's nice to know Olivia talks about me but"
All the blood in me suddenly flushed out of my body,
"Oh, Is that cause you like her?"
He looked at me, before moving some lollies back where they should be.
"Well, it was nice seeing you but I don't really feel like anything anymore. I'll see you"
I tried, to confidently say while strutting out of the store, at least I hoped it looked like 'strutting'
"June!"
I turned around, just in time to catch what Dimitri had thrown at me. I looked down at my hands to see 'Caramel Slice'.
"It's on me" Dimitri said, before turning to walk away
"How'd you know I like Caramel Slice?" I asked,
He looked at me over his shoulder, shrugging "I dunno you looked like caramel girl".

I walked home, preparing for the punishment I would get from my Mum when she found out that I was perfectly fine, and no one had killed me. And that, in her opinion is the only reason I could miss the end of school.
I opened the door, wondering if I could sneak upstairs, then ring Olivia and maybe stay at hers. It would be fine. "Going to Olivia's!" I'd say, and then creep out the door.
But no such luck.
As my eyes looked at the floor, as the door fully opened, I saw black heels. My eyes moved up further, to a red dress, and a black clutch. Who the hell was this?
"Mum? Why are you all dressed up? I've never seen you like this! It's not your birthday, or mine. And why else would you get dressed up?"
"Olivia! You watch that lip of yours! Listen to me. These past few days, you have been acting disgustingly. These past few days, you've been wearing god knows what! Yesterday you looked like a prostitute! Do you want old men to pick you up on the street? Me and your Dad, we've been talking. And we're in the process of trying to find a new school for you. It was Olivia that brought this all on! And don't try and lie to me, I've been through your room! I've seen your new designer clothes, and your hair products that probably cost as much as this whole outfit put together! We do not have that kind of money to chuck about, so it must of been her. I don't know what's got into you. But I'm sick of it. Tomorrow will be your last day of school, no arguments."
I couldn't believe it. I knew she would be mad, but this was ridiculous.
"Ok." I mumbled.
I felt anger ripple through me, as my clenched fist crush my 'Caramel Slice'.
