It was dark. The night breeze stung my cheeks like pins and needles. My mind started to ponder as my feet took steps towards dark alleys. I knew them off by heart since I moved to Seoul 2 years ago. My mom is over working herself and the house is locked until she comes back. I wander these streets in order to wait it all out. We are already in debt and it won't be long until the landlord kicks us out. I found a house near my home. It's abandoned, so I made it my own. I go there when I want to be by myself, away from society. Some humans can be cruel, in more ways than you could ever imagine. Some call you terrible things that you wish to forget.

I walked along through the dark alleys until my phone started buzzing. I reached into my pocket and answered the call.

"Hello?" I asked. " Good evening Miss. Min Mirae. This is the Seoul city hospital. I am sorry to inform you that your mother is in hospital in a comatose state. She is not awakening although her heart is steady. "

My heart sank. A boulder in my chest was dragging me down to the ground. Everything was blurry in front of me. My body trembled as I covered my mouth. Warm tears poured down my skin like gentle rain. I couldn't believe it. My breathing sped up and I couldn't calm down. "Ma'am. Are you there?" The doctor asked concerned. My voice trembled "Y-yes, i'm h-here." I sniffed and tried to control my breathing and tears. "Your mother is safe with us. She isn't going to pass away but she did overwork her body to the point of exhaustion. Whenever you have time, please speak to us so we can diagnose her and help her further." I sniffed again. Nodding my head I responded with a trembling voice. "A-alright. Thank you for t-the information. " I hung up and screamed in pain. She meant so much to me. Why did she have to overwork herself!? Look mom, look what happened to you.

My legs trembled as I tried to get up. I leaned onto the nearest wall and aided myself with my strength. I balanced myself and started to sluggishly walk to the abandoned house of mine. I looked down and rubbed my eyes. All was blurry from my tears. I couldn't stop them from pouring down. BAM! I fell back onto the ground as I realised I bumped into someone. I look up with my half blurry vision to see a tall slender boy in a black oversized hoodie and black ripped jeans.

He is looking down on me with an emotionless face. My heart started to race in fear. What do I do? I couldn't see his face clearly. But he had dark hair from what I could see. A tall straight posture. Next thing I know I am kicked by him. "Weak" he mutters. I wince in pain and continue crying. Why is he hitting me? I curled up to protect myself. I was too weak to fight back. My body trembling from all of today's events. I can't do it. "Why aren't you fighting back you coward!" my body ached again. I gasped at the force that hit my back. It's so painful. " P-please stop it." I pleaded. "Please don't hurt me." I curled up even more. Gripping my arms tightly. My nails dug into my skin in anxiety.

There was silence. For a minute I thought, should I run? Should I get up? What do I do?

" Get up" the mans husky voice said. "Why" I questioned. "just GET UP!" His voice echoed through the jet black alley.

I got on my knees and trembled as I struggled to get up. He grabbed my arm and helped me up. I fell into his body. His arm held me as he pushed up my chin to look at him. "Go home and stop being such a cry-baby. Life is hard, get over it buttercup." I gasped in shock. I felt his minty warm breath on my face. My lips trembled in fear and sadness. I nodded to him. He pushed me away and I ran. I didn't look back, not once. That man was insane, no...he was a sociopath. Does he not know what feelings are? Any sane person would help a person who was crying. My legs got heavier and heavier as I ran home. My body cold and trembling. Who is that guy? And why did he say such mean things?

A few moments later I arrived at the abandoned house.

Maybe it was ugly on the outside but the inside was beautiful to me

Maybe it was ugly on the outside but the inside was beautiful to me. I had my living room with a burgundy sofa and a ash grey carpet. I plastered the creaky wooden walls in cheap white wallpaper. The kitchen was plain. It consisted of a small table and a little sink. I cooked food in the fireplace since that was my only source of heat. My room is basic. It has a single bed with a couple of frames with quotes that keep me going in life. I have a little night shelf and a candle holder. This way I can read or draw if i ever feel like it during the night.

This is my home now. And I can't go back to the old one. By now the landlords are already throwing everything out in the trash. I didn't have anything valuable there anyway.

I crashed onto the bed and closed my eyes. I drifted away slowly to sleep, ending my day like this.
