The Army

'The Keron Army is such a ridiculous system,' is what a young bi-pedal frog creature named Kururu is thinking right now, curling his amphibious toes around the starlit space bench he was sitting on. He was close to being recruited into the Keron military, a privilege granted to the most supreme of children.
He already knew who he would be grouped with, an annoyance named the Keroro squadron. An annoyance that he didn't want to deal with right now. Staring into the sky through cloudy custom-painted glasses, he wondered which planet his team would be living on in the next few years. 56th Alpha? Andromedan System Planet 12? There were a lot of planets out there.
It sounded exhausting, the effort it took the military to conquer a single planet. Not like he could mock them, for he was to become one of those ridiculous military members himself. Was it out of his own free will? Most likely not, choices made of free will were very limited on Keron, his home planet. He shook his head, eager to rid himself of this mindset. He had gone on a walk to escape these very thoughts.
He hopped off the bench, preparing to head home. As he was shrugging on the travel bag he had brough along, something caught his eye. Something small and rectangular. An envelope? He clasped his hands around it, pondering the reason why his own signature was emblazoned in front. What was this doing out in the middle of the wilderness, and why couldn't he remember signing any sort of item like this? It seemed preposterous, so naturally he leaned over and picked it up gingerly, like any curious person would.
Stroking the oddly lumpy front with two damp fingers, he identified that the forger used the same amount of pen pressure he used to write as well. Growing ever more eager to know what was inside by the second, he flipped to the opposite side quite quickly. He was greeted yet again by a wax seal of a hauntingly bright red swirl symbol - his own design, which was even more confusing - this was exactly the sigil he was proposing to the military as his badge for when he was drafted. It wasn't even on official documents yet!

Squatting back down on the bench, he carefully removed the seal. A specialized audio device was what caused the lump at the front - no wonder - and it was an exact replica of the technology he used to listen to music, and anything else for that matter. He inserted it into his hearing aids, and rifled through the papers as he tuned in to the mystery file.
