You won't notice when it starts to happen.

You might start spending more time in front of mirrors. Checking hair, fixing makeup—at first. Then you'll start just looking. Watching yourself watch yourself. Turning your head a little this way, then a little that way. Fidgeting. Everybody does it.

Your reflection pushes her glasses up. You push your glasses up.

Your reflection purses her lips at the mirror. You purse your lips at the mirror.

Your reflection tilts her head, so you tilt your head. And slowly you begin to realize that cause and effect—they're the wrong way around.
