Yoo Ra's POV
I woke up to the incessant ringing of a doorbell.

"Who's there...?" I asked lazily as I rubbed my eyes and forced myself to get out of bed. Staggering all the way to the door, I turned the knob and surprisingly, it was a postman.

"Your package, Miss," he said as he handed me a box that was wrapped ever so neatly by a piece of light brown wrapping. "Please sign here," he instructed, gesturing to a document. After signing it, I thanked him and walked back into the living room.

"What could this be?" I thought, trying to recall any item I had purchased online. Just then, I suddenly remembered what it was.

"OH MY GOD IS THIS THE DARK AND WILD ALBUM?!?!?"

Without hesitation, I immediately opened the package and started admiring their faces.

"Kyeopta..." I said to myself as I browsed through the photobook. I was a hardcore army, and I was literally obsessed over bangtan sonyeondan. They were my life, my motivation and inspiration. With their recent comeback, I finally got the permission from my mother to purchase their album!!

As I flipped through the pages, a note fell out. I brought it to my face and read its content.
"We are recruiting people to join Bighit Entertainment as trainees. Please email audition@bighit.com if you wish to sign up." I read to myself.

They're recruiting?!

I gulped as my heart palpitated rapidly. I looked at the paper once again and my heart told me to snatch my phone and email them instantly. Should I at least, try?

Ever since young, I've always wanted to be an idol. The life of an idol seemed so cool - one moment you could be having a fansign, one moment you could be entertaining millions of people. Furthermore, singing and dancing is my passion, and I have got to say, after becoming a fan of BTS, this passion of mine became a stronger desire.

However, I did not have the chance to do so as I had gone to America for most of my life, and had only recently returned to Korea.

I picked up my phone and called my mother.

It rang once, it rang twice.

Mom: "Aigoo, sweetheart, why are you calling me? Did you miss me already?"

Me: "Jinja bogoshipda, eomma ! But I need to consult you on another matter..."

Mom: "Spill it!"

Me: "Can I audition for Bighit entertainment?"

There was a pause for a second or two.

Mom: "Dear, if that is really your dream, I can't stop you. I'll support you if it's really what you want! It's your youth, go live the life you want, Yoo Ra."

Me: "Jinja?! Gomawo, eomma! Saranghaeyo!"

Mom: "Aigoo.. arasseo. Annyeong!"

And the phone call ended.

"AAA IM SO EXCITED!! OTOKAE?!?!?" I screamed as I jumped around my apartment.

I walked to the bathroom mirror and stared at myself.

"You can do this Yoo Ra. You got this," I whispered.

TWO WEEKS LATER

It had since been two weeks after I got the confirmation that I was able to go for the audition. Excited as I was, I was inevitably nervous as well. What if I couldn't make it? There were so many people out there that were better than me, so why would they choose me? The audition was tomorrow, and luckily, I had found a perfect piece for me to sing. It's title was "Wake me up" by Taeyang. I tried really helped practising for this piece, and eventually it was a day before the audition.

"You got this, Yoo Ra, come on," my best friend, Ji Yeon said to me while patting on my back.

"I don't know... Should I just back out and give an excuse that I'm sick? I don't think I can do this!" I said as I buried my face in a pillow.

"Andwae. The Yoo Ra I know is a tough girl. She wouldn't back out so easily like this," Ji Yeon answered. "Just go for experience. It doesn't matter if you get in or not, what matters is that you've tried!"

I sighed. "Arasseo, Ji Yeon. Gomawoyo," I said before taking a deep breath.

"Come on, you've worked so hard and this is your dream! Don't let your anxiety eat you up!" Ji Yeon encouraged, giving me a warm smile. I smiled back and hugged her tightly.

She's right. I'm gonna try no matter what.
