“Be good, try your best in your classes and for heavens sake please try to make friends” Taylor called out to her son as the train sped away.

Taylor was very worried about her son, Alex, as he wasn't very good at making friends. Well in fact it wasn't that he couldn't it was the problem of him not wanting to make friends. Alex liked to keep to himself, said friends would distract him from the more important things in life like his studies. But Taylor didn't care about his grades really, she just wanted him to have friends. She started to wonder if sending him to Hogwarts was a mistake

“Excuse me but do you have a spare seat?”

Sapphire looked up to see a small boy with longish black hair, gorgeous blue eyes and a shy smile.

“Sure. Lucky for you we have one spare seat” Sapphire replied as she move a pile of books from the seat next to her.

He sat down on the seat and looked at Sapphire, she had beautiful, long, blonde hair, navy blue eyes and a kind smile.

“Oh how rude of me, I'm Sapphire by the way. This is Harper.”

She pointed to the girl in front of her, she had short red hair and mint green eyes which were quite difficult to see as she had a book in her face.

“This is Cornelius.”

She nudged the boy sitting next to her as he had somehow fallen asleep even though they hadn't even been on the train for 2 minutes. As the sleeping boy rose he could now see his face, he looked strangely like his grandfather, the short brown hair, the midnight blue eyes, but it must have just been a coincidence.

“Whats your name then?” Sapphire asked curiously

“Alex, Alex Oakley”

“Nice name” Harper said as she put her book down.

For the next half an hour or so they all just talked. They talked about what houses they wanted to be in- Harper and Sapphire said Gryffindor, Cornelius said Hufflepuff and Alex said he didnt care.

“But if anyone of us gets put in Slytherin we can't be friends with them, I’m sorry but i just can’t be friends with a Slytherin” Sapphire had said.

They talked about what they dreamed hogwarts would be like, they talked about family. Alex realised that he was starting to make friends, he was disgusted with himself. But then he realised that he actually liked this and he realised that this friendship might stay when they got to hogwarts. As long as he was not put in Slytherin.

Hogwarts was way bigger than any of them expected it was humungous with many towers and turrets. As the first years were led into the great hall for sorting Alex couldn't help but wonder

“What if I am put into Slytherin, what if I lose the only friends I’ve ever had….”

He pushed the thought to the back of his head and just hoped for the best.

The sorting hat had been sorting for a minute or so and Alex was already starting to get bored. But then he heard a name being called out, the name everyone had been waiting for.

Potter, Albus

The whole room fell silent, everyone wanted him to be sorted into their house, the boy who liveds son, what an honour it would be to be in the same house as him.
