We meet again

Day 1

"Ugh, not again " , I said under my breath . This was the fifth time my phone was buzzing but I'm too tired to acknowledge the alarms . All of a sudden I went into a deep thought about what today was ,when will we leave , and .. should I get up ? My thoughts were interrupted when my mother came barging into my room , " Everly Dawn !! Get up ! Put your bags in the car , and grab a pop tart or something ! We need to head out soon " .

After my morning was rushed , I grabbed my earphones , my bags and we were out the door .

My 3 cousins were on their way too . We played each other in 8ball on our phones the whole way there .

2 hours had passed and we made it . " Ahhh Turtle beach , I'm here again " , I said In an adored way . My uncle started demanding orders , as always .. he's the only man in our family . " Everly ,bring me that box in the back of the car , it's got the tent in it " , uncle Max said . I gave him a quick " yes sir"!

"This is too hard ! I can't get the pole to stand strai-", mid sentence .. I looked up and saw a blonde headed boy ride up the path towards the beach . One look of him and I knew exactly who it was . It had been 2 years since I last seen him but that was a face ( and a good looking body ) that I would never forget .

I was in so much shock , I got up from helping my uncle , and I ran to my cousins who were setting up the picnic table for dinner . " guys !! You won't believe who I just saw !! , I said excitedly .

" who Everly ? Who? We're busy , hurry up " , my cousin Shelly yelled with no intentions of actually caring about who I just saw .

I looked around to make sure he wasn't around and I told them , " I saw ... Logan .." .

The way I said it didn't seem as exciting as I planned on it to be . I got all sad for a second .. what if he doesn't remember me ? Was there really anything to remember? What if he remembers me but doesn't even care ? This was all wrong ! He has to remember me , we had such a good time ! Our families got along so well too. My youngest cousin pulled me out of my thoughts saying " flip your hair !! Here he comes, he totally recognized you!! " .

Oh god . I'm not ready for this !! What do I do ! My head felt like it was about to explode. My stomach was definitely upside down and I felt like throwing up because of it .

His bike made a noise , you know .. when it stops in the gravel . That made me want to die . Right then and there. I hid behind the car when it happened. I heard a familiar voice . A voice that sound like music to my hears . "God .. if you're watching this , please make him go away , I'm not ready for this " , I whispered to where only I could hear .

" Excuse me , sorry for bothering you guys , but I was wondering if y'all knew a girl named Everly , I could've swore I saw her .. or a girl that looks like her.." , Logan said to my family . " ohh Everlyyyy , a boy wants to see you " , my youngest cousin Lana said .

I've never hated my life as much as I did right now .

I was nervous, embarrassed, and now walking out of my hiding spot to say words that I never thought I would get to say again , " hi Logan " . I gave him a smile with a short wave . He walked over and my heart was for sure going to rip through my chest onto him . " Everly , hi .. " with a deep breath , he finished and said more .. " I can't believe you're here ".

Yeah me either , I thought I was going to die having to come out from behind the car .. I thought . I realized I had been quiet for quite a while when I saw that all four people were staring at me , Logan , Shelly , Lana , and Kelsey . I shook my head and replied , " yeah , me either , it's been what , two years?" , I questioned , already knowing the answer . I missed him the whole time , I thought about him several times over the first year , tried to find him through the media but that's pretty hard when you don't know his last name .

" yeah it has been 2 years , hasn't it .. " he said . " would you like to talk on the beach for a bit and - " , Logan was interrupted by my uncle saying " the girls will be down later , we have stuff to do " . Logan was quick to react and said " oh , I could help if you'd like ! I'm great with setting up tents " .

" I guess you can help " uncle max said .

An hour passed and we were all free to go to the beach .

The girls , Logan , and I walked up the path together that lead directly to the water . " wow ! Look at this sunset " , I said , pointing towards the sun . " it's beautiful, and something I've waited so long to see .. hey ! Just like you ! " , Logan preached with a big smile on his face .

I melted at his words and gave him a big smile back. His teeth were so perfect , so white and straight. My thoughts took over and I started to imagine when he was little . Did he get braces ? Probably not , this boy was born perfect . I couldn't find anything wrong with him. His hair was blonde and short , he was a little taller than me , probably like 5'9 or something, you could see every muscle through his blue shirt , he was a gymnast after all . They're all built like him . Last but not least , his eyes . They were blue . As blue as the water that creeped up onto our ankles . Cold but clear and beyond beautiful.

We ran into his family that was already set up on the beach . Logan's little brother automatically recognized my cousins and I and jumped up with excitement yelling , " omg ! Y'all are back !! Mom , look !! It's Everly , and her sisters !! " .

We were only cousins , but I wasn't about to interfere with his statement . He was the cutest little boy , he Looked just like Logan but Luke was chubby and shorter .

" oh my . You girls have gotten so big ! Wow , Everly you look so different! So mature and beautiful! " . Logan's mom mentioned . I replied quick with laughter and eventually said ," thank you Veara , puberty surly did me well , gosh , I don't even want to remember what I looked like when you first met me ". She laughed and said " oh be quiet doll, you were perfect, still are ". We exchanged smiles and I felt a tug on my arm , I looked down and Logan's hand was on mine . " let's get in the water " , Logan demanded .

"Wait !" I said laughing .

" what is it ? " he he begged . I could tell that he wanted to be alone with me , it had been so long , we had a lot of catching up to do .. I wished to be alone too , but instead I said , " You and your families tradition!! It's in like 2 minutes ". . Logan shot back with, " you Remember our tradition"? I gave him a smirk and replied " well yeah! It was so cool , I never will forget it " .

Their family blew into these big seashells when the last bit of the sun disappeared . Every sunset , every beach they've been on . As they were getting ready , My family stood behind them , smiling at this beautiful site .

Our families agreed to get up early tomorrow and eat breakfast together . This made me so happy , I couldn't wait to see him again . We said our "good nights" and walked to our tents . " goodnight Everly " , Logan yelled across the 4 campers between us . I didn't reply , but let's say I fell asleep smiling .
