Rose oil. That wonderful, awful smell wafted through out the tomb. The once damp air turned painfully dry and saturated with a floral scent. Even though I knew what was coming my body began to brace for what was yet to come. I fell to the cement floors and back-pedalled in to a mossy corner. All of the particles in the air were becoming saturated with the sickly oil

I clutched on to my dirty ball gown ,the lavender chiffon torn and smeared with dirt and mud.
"Joel?" I croak. No answer. It's so dark down here I don't think I could see him even if he was with me.My head feels heavy and my eyes struggle to stay open. At some point I'm not sure when or how long it's been,but my body stopped fighting,I let what's about to happen happen. My eyes flutter shut and my breath become shallow and short. A whole twenty seconds in between breaths.

BreathNow just like always right, before the absolute darkness, blinding light. The flash seared right through my eyelids and tracked down my veins leaving a unmistakable warmth. Then a gripping chill and I'm sent in to a spiral of black and the the circling smell of rose oil.
