Chapter 9

               "I think we got everything." I stated as we walked around the mall. Genos was carrying the heavier stuff while I was carrying the light stuff, but I was carrying more things than him, so I can't really say who's having a tougher time. Then again, the weight is barely a bother, so there's that.

               I noticed that as we were walking, some people were staring at us.

               'OMG! Is that Demon Cyborg?!'
               'And is that Kuroneko?!'
               'Are they together? Like together-together?'
               'I can actually imagine them being together!'
               'I ship it!'
               'No! He's mine, and mine only!'

               I sighed as I heard them bicker. They must have a lot of time in their hands to be talking about other people.

               "Just ignore them." Genos stated, and I simply nodded in understanding.

               "Say, Suzuno." I heard the cyborg speak. I turned to him, to see that he has stopped walking and was looking at a store. "Do you mind if we stop by there really quick?"

               I gave him a small smile, "I don't mind, let's go." And with that, we made our way to the store that caught his attention, which is called "Star Magic".

               "Awwww!" I squealed as I look around, admiring the stuff animals that filled the store.

               "So what's your business here?" I asked the cyborg, curiously.

               "I-I wanted to buy something for you-" He answered, shyly. "-as a token of appreciation. And I've heard sensei mention that you like cute things before."

               "Awww, you don't have to do that, honest!" I spoke as my smile grew.

               "B-But I insist!" He spoke, and knowing him, he won't give up. "So which one would you like to have?"

               "Anything's fine, you can pick for me." I happily informed.

               The cyborg nodded, and began looking around. He then approached something and took it before he went over to the cashier and paid for it. I patiently waited near the exit as the whispers the people share to each other as they watch goes louder, but I ignored them.

               Soon Genos came back, both of his hands were behind his back as if he was hiding something.

               "I hope you like it." He said, before he revealed what he was hiding and gave it to me. It was a stuff black cat that was 12 inches tall. It actually reminds me of the cat from the movie "Kiki's Delivery Service".

               "So... do you like it?" He asked, nervously.

               "No, no I don't." I deadpan. I look at Genos' disappointed face, before I flashed him a huge smile. "That's because I love it." I happily beamed.

               "You cheeky little cat." He spoke as a smile made it's way to his face.

               Childishly, I stuck my tongue out at him, and then he spoke, "Good thing i bought this too."

               Before I could even ask, he placed something that felt like a headband on my head. I gave him a confused look as I try to feel the object to see what it was, that was when it hit me.

               "Cat ears?" The cyborg's smile grew and he nodded in confirmation.

               "Black ones to be exact." He informed.

               "Well aren't you clever." I shot back, a grin was on my face. "You know what, I might just walk home with this on."

               He chuckled, which is EXTREMELY RARE, LIKE HOLY COW. "Oh really?"

               "Yeah, I'm proud to have Kuroneko as a hero name." I informed.

               "That wasn't what you said a while ago, though." He informed.

               I sighed in defeat. "You know what, let's just go back home, I have a jacket to make." I said as I took his hand and began to drag him with me.

               We walked home together, chatting and joking around, ignoring the stares we got from other people.
