When we were younger we were taught how to make friends, be it your neighbor or at school, there is always that same, famous introductory line,"Hi, my name is Alex, what's your name?"
Making friends was easy for some people, like they were breathing fresh air, but difficult for some people, like suffocating because there is no air. I used to have so many friends, the issue is, now I realize that I didnt even know their names, let alone who they really were.
My story begins on the first day of Summer vacation, which is the day I met Unicorn, his real name is Laird Becker, but everyone calls him unicorn because of how colorful but clean he dresses, like if a rainbow was made of perfect crystal, it would be him.
We met in a movie theater, we fought over the same seat, I6, but it was my fault, my ticket actually said l6, and we both agreed that this movie theater should have used capitol letters in all the AlphaNumeric seating, cause it was a small letter L and a capitol I, we later then sued IncorCinema and it got shut down, allegedly they were trying to mess with people deliberately.Unicorn has two dads and two moms who are in the exact same relationship, they are each others' wives and each others' husbands like 4 peas in a pod and they all sleep in the same bed. Unicorn also has 5 incredibly intelligent siblings but he is as dumb as a rock but deeper than the ocean, his poetry is so truthful and so relatable it could be a crime, im not even close to joking.
Me and unicorn decided that our hang spot would be Summer school, I know right, you might think were insane but isn't that's what having friends is, an insane rollercoaster.
We live in a town called DOS and go to school at Pellow High School. It is the first day of Summer school and I'm only there cause Unicorn needs to bring up his GPA, I'm smart like it's a drug, I dont get A's, A's get me. We are in class now and Unicorn gazes his Dark, black eyes into my Indigo contact lenses, but my real eyes are rosy brown, and he whispers silently to me, "Why are you my friend, why do u actually care, we're like complete opposites, you like plain and I like explosive, what is it that you really want?"
I told him that I just wanted a friend, but I could feel his distrust, he never had many friends. Later that day at exactly 4:32 in the afternoon we walked in the Yoyo FroYo shop and we ordered the same thing, a strawberry-vanilla FroYo with two sour gums, and surprisingly it was the waitress' favourite order, her name was Diamond, she hated working at Yoyo, so she ditched and we followed her like she was a shepard. Diamond was a sight for sore eyes, this girl was stunning and it was like nothing else mattered, just her. When you look into her piercing blue eyes and her black roots and brunette ends. She had a free spirit and a fire in her core, and to top it all off my favourite thing in the entire world is Diamonds, I am insane about them. Me and Unicorn both knew at that moment that this girl, this beautiful, tri-racial, girl has to be our friend and should she enter our inner circle everything would change, now and forever
It's been two weeks and our routine has already tired out. From summer school to Yoyo FroYo, it just wasn't enough. So, we thought about it and decided that we need to go somewhere new, we went to coax club to have the most illuminated night or our lives, with glowing faces we were indulged in our own dopamine. That is where it happened I bumped into her, Lee, the cutest girl ever with the most mesmerising puppy eyes. I knew then that she, Lee was my soulmate, and then I said those immortal words: " Hi, hi fr... And then I thought to myself "friend?" How can I call this girl friend. I don't even know her, and even if I did, would I really want to be just friends, or more? So I then just said: "Hi, I'm Alex how are you?" "Not intoxicated, if that's what you're implying, I mean I only had one drink but I detoxed with water so it doesn't really count, does it?" She kept mumbling on and on but I didn't have the urge to hush her remarkable voice, it was hers and she said the most impossible things. We talked endlessly through the night.
Whilst Lee and I talked, Diamond was in a seductive mood, she met a boy. He was charming and very whitty, honest and handsome like no other, he was legitimately the most perfect guy you could find, his name was Lacen. She fell for him like and raindrop to the ground. He then said: "Has anyone ever told you that you look beautiful?" "Actually...yes!", she said, and he replied saying, "Well that person lied straight to your face!", "Excuse me?" She blurted out. He took his time in saying: "You are not beautiful! You are so much more than that, you are unexplainably, unimaginably, mesmerisingly, horrendously, humourously, intensively, drop dead, resurrect yourself, die again because you saw an angelic goddess Gorgeous! And a golden tear of overjoyousness rolled right down her flawless face, she felt over the moon of another plannet somewhere in the galaxy far, far away.
It was on this night that my circle of insane friends was actually complete, and who knew what crazy adventures we would soon find ourselves on. I know this for an actual fact, we were destined to find one another and together, become a new and beautiful generation of all kinds of unique relations.
