MADDISONS POV

I finally saw a bright light and I felt someone grab hold of my hand and  a tear fall onto it. 

I see people surrounding me, of what it looks like it is 5 boys. My vision is still a bit blurry. my eyes start to adjust and the first person I see is Zion. he is the one holding my hand... and crying. 

"you're awake!" shouted Austin. 

"and now deaf" I say staring to laugh. "what happened to me. why am I in a hospital bed?" I ask looking around the room. 

"do you not remember?" Edwin asks. 

I look at him confusingly. "what do you mean?" I look at Zion and he looks really angry. 

"That dick head hit you! I shouldn't of left you. I'm really sorry" he looks at the floor.

I lift his head up with my hand. "Z honestly I'm fine. Don't put the blame on yourself. it wasn't your fault, you cant always be by my side" I kiss him on his forehead. 

ZIONS POV 

Maddy just called me Z. she has never done that before. it made me smile, the little things she does makes me smile a lot. 

I look at the boys and try to hint to them to leave. 

"C'mon guys, lets leave these for some privacy" Nick says as he smiles at me. 

Brandon doesn't hear as he is still staring out the window. 

"BRANDON!" Austin shouts as he drags his arm.

"oh shit sorry bro" he says as he gets dragged out the room.

I look back at Maddy and carry off our conversation.

"if I was just to stay with you I wouldn't of let this happen. you wouldn't be sitting here." I say as a tear falls down my cheek. 

she sits up and takes both my hands and locks them with hers. "Zion don't blame yourself. I know hes an absolute dick head and I know you hate him but he was hurt at the end of the day" 

"that still doesn't not give him the right to hit you!" i say as my voice gets louder and louder. 

"I know it doesn't but think how you would feel if you was in his position" I look at her and raise one eyebrow. 

"are you seriously sticking up for him! I'm sick of this!" I shout.

MADDISONS POV 

why is he shouting at me? I ask myself.

"why are you shouting?" I shout back. 

"you don't get it Maddy. Its killing me, watching you with him! he treats you like shit and he hits you and you still stick up for him and give him excuses. I Love You. he clearly doesn't. If you was with me you wouldn't have to worry about leaving the house to meet your friends because  wouldn't go mad like he does! I don't get what he has that I don't apart from him being a total Knob and I'm not" he stands up and walks to the window. 

I get up and stand next to him. i grab his had and rest my head against his arm. 

"you have everything he hasn't got. your kind, honest, loyal and your not too over protective." he turns and looks at me and grabs my hand. 

"then why are you with him and not me?" he says.

I open my mouth and close it again and I have no words. 

"your scared of him aren't you? your scared to break up with him..." he says lifting my head up so we are making eye contact. 

a tear falls down my face. 

"this is not fair at all! you should be able to make your own choices Maddy. Do you even want to be with me?" he asks. 

"of course I do. I love you Z. But I don't know how to tell Juwany that its you I want not him" 

"I will help you" he kisses me.
