Eilenne and I sat at my house in my basement, playing all time low and dancing around the room like idiots. The room was like my little refuge, with beanbags, rugs and coushins covering most of the floorspace.

"So," Eilenne said, flopping down onto the beanbags as the song ended and another one started. "What are you gonna do about Saturday? Sneak out, go to Mali's…" She trailed off.

I turned down the volume of our music, shaking my head. "Nah, both my parents are leaving around midday tomorrow to go to some sort of work conference thing in Darwin. Something about testing new ways of sustainable energy or some shit." I said, sitting on a beanbag as well.

"Well," Eilenne grabbed a bag of chips from where I hide them. "That works out perfectly, doesn't it? I mean, then you don't have to worry about being caught."

"Yeah, they're gonna be gone for a week cause after that they're going to the Daintree in Queensland for mum to look at some endangered plant species, look for medical properties, stuff like that." I grabbed some chips and put them in my mouth.

"Oh cool!" Eilenne swallowed, her moth previously full of chips. "We can throw a party here again?" She asked.

"No way." I shook my head. "No way in hell. We nearly got caught last time, remember? The Hemmings almost caught us, remember? Luke texted me saying he was 10 mins away and had something for me, and that was literally JUST enough time for us to get everyone out and get rid of the evidence."

Eilenne nodded. "Okay then. Are your parents leaving you here alone, though?"

"Ugh, no." I said, flopping back onto my beanbag. "I have to go to the Hemmings' Saturday morning. The conditions are that I can stay here and like 'do my homework' and get changed and everything, but I have to have dinner at the Hemmings' and sleep over there."

"At least you'll have Luke and his brothers to keep you company." Eilenne winked at me.

I laughed, saying. "No way. I got Matt anyway."

"He's a dick and you know it."

"No he's not."

"He's so cheating." Eilenne folded her arms.

"He is fucking not!" I chucked a pillow at her, laughing. "Ssh." I said.

"What?"

"Did you hear that?" I looked towards my computer screen, where I kept the video live stream of my front yard open. "Shit my mum's home." I said. We ran around the room, hiding all evidence of the chips, changing the music playing to some classical shit, and pulling out our homework. We literally just sat down and talked about it just in time when my mum walked into the room.

"Hi girls!" She said.

"Hi Mrs Brown!" Eilenne replied, smiling and waving.

"Studying hard, I see?" My mum said.

"Of course mum!" I replied, smiling and tapping my pencil on my chin.

"Do you girls want anything?" She asked.

"Some water would be nice, thanks." I said. My mum smiled and left.

"Can you get rid of her? I wanna keep talking about the party." Eilenne whispered to me.

"Sssshh!!" I whacked her arm. "My mum has drone hearing. She heard you say that word and now she'll come in."

"What did you girls say?" My mum peeked her head in the door. Right on cue. I thought.

"No mum, you must've heard wrong. We said MARTY, it's the name used in this question." I said, pointing to my paper.

"Oh, okay." She said, shaking her head.
