Johin woke with a thud from a loud crash outside. He quickly uncovered himself, put his old yellow boots and a ratty white t-shirt on, then opened his door. Outside, it was pouring rain so hard that it was difficult to see in front of him. He didn't have to look too far past it, for around him were people screaming and half a burning skyscraper. The orange flames from the fire were impossible to miss. Another bomb shuttle must have crashed into the tallest building his town had left. Johin knew exactly what to do. He knew the Crises soldiers would be here soon to keep killing off the only other humans left in this world unless more kids joined them. He went back inside his tiny house and shut his door.

"Frankie c'mon we gotta go to the Square again!" Exclaimed Johin to his black cat. Frankie quickly got up out of her bed and went over to him, "Here, put this on." He bent down on one knee and gave her a bright orange collar with a tag that said 'SUPER F'.
"It'll keep you safe Frankie! No one will take ya with that on!" Frankie rubbed against his leg and purred. Johin patted her head then stood up and grabbed his teal jacket. He put the old thing on then grabbed his satchel that had a large smiley face on it. He gestured to Frankie, she mewed then climbed in.

"I know you want to run with me this time, but it's raining and it'd be rather hard to see you. I just wanna keep you safe oki?" Johin said with a big smile and a thumbs up. He then opened the front door and ran as fast as he could to the Square. It was still extremely hard to see, but Johin knew where he was going. He had spent his entire life learning to know all about his small town. More like, his only town left. Life hated Johin, and it took everything from him, but it won't take his city or his friend.
