LOWRI

I wonder who that tattooed guy is. I've never seen him before and now twice in a couple of days. Is he stalking me? Nah. I'm nobody important enough to stalk. Maybe he likes my surfing skills. I sit outside my van and watch him walk past. He makes his way to a house pretty much across the road. I see him go in. If he lives that close, how come I've never seen him before? I go in and put my shopping away before lying down for a nap. My sleeping pattern is totally screwed up. Has been since I lost my parents. I sleep for a couple of hours and on waking decide to make some more t-shirts. I'm running a bit low on stock. I grab my dyeing bucket and mix up the dye I want first. I quickly tie the t-shirts up with string and get to work. Some I just dip dye, others I put patterns on. It's time consuming but I find it relaxing. I lose track of time quickly and realise it's getting dark. I hang the finished t-shirts up to dry outside the van and walk down the beach. I have my trusty Jack Daniels in one hand and a cigarette in the other. I lie down on the sand and watch the sun setting. Saying goodnight to another day.

TONY

I hear the door go and open it to the guys. They come on in and we quickly pick a film to watch. It's still light outside when that finishes so Jaime decides we should go for an early evening swim on the beach. We run down the sand, all slightly drunk and are soon having a full on water fight. I see a figure sitting on the sand watching us. It's surfer girl. Mike follows my gaze.

"Who's that?" he asks.

"She lives in that van up there and surfs. Thats all I know" I tell him.

He starts walking towards her. Mike is a huge flirt and has no issues talking to girls. I've always been the opposite. Shy is an understatement. I'm ok after a few drinks as a rule but sober = awkward Tony.

LOWRI

One of tattoo guys friends is coming over. Yeay. I see he also has tattoos. They can't see mine as I'm wearing jeans and a hoody. He stops in front of me.

"I hear you surf" he says. I nod, taking a big swig out of my bottle and lighting another cigarette. I offer him a smoke and he smiles and accepts. He's also eyeing up my drink so I offer him that too. I haven't spoken yet. I'm really quite shy, unless I'm drunk. Which I'm not at this precise moment.

"Do you have a name or I should I just call you surfer girl?" he asks. I sigh.

"Lowri" I mutter.

"That's different" he says. "I'm Mike. Over there are my brother Vic and my friends Jaime and Tony. Tony lives over there which is why we are here."

I look over to the others who are still messing around in the water. So, tattoo guy is Tony. I take another swig out of my bottle and Mike makes a funny noise. I offer it him again and he takes a swig before passing it back.

"Do you sit out here all night?" Mike asks. I shake my head.

"Only when I want to clear my head" I whisper. Which is more often than not. I see the others are walking back up towards us now. I stand up, brushing the sand off, and wave as I make my way back to my van. To my somewhat lonely existence.
