Kayla's pov
I woke up to my face being licked to death by my 6 month old goldendoodle. "Get off of me Bailey!" I look over to read my phone and the time says 9:00. "You've got to be kidding me!" I'm late for work! I work as a waitress at our local diner. I can't believe Morgan didn't wake me up. Morgan is my younger sister and also my roommate. She is REALLY smart. She's a software engineer. I'm jealous of her because she makes so much money and I'm over here making almost half of what she makes in one day in a week. I quickly hop out of bed and I let Bailey out and feed her. I put on my dress, tights, and sneakers. I throw on a bit of makeup and put my hair up in a pony tail. I grab my purse on the way out the door and head to work. I get to the diner and my boss, Alice, is standing at the door. "Where have you been?" "I'm so sorry Alice. My alarm didn't go off this morning and Morgan didn't even think to wake me. It won't happen again I promise." "Okay I'll let you go but this cannot happen again." "It won't. Don't worry." I walk in and take my purse to the back of the kitchen. Then, I walk out and start taking people's orders and bringing them their food, you know how it goes. A cute guy with brown hair walks in. He's wearing a shirt that says "MERCH". That's weird. I walk over to take his order but he doesn't even notice me because he's too busy on his phone. "Are you going to order something? If not go be on your phone somewhere that isn't this diner. Thank you." "I'm so sorry. I'll have two chocolate chip pancakes." "Okay two chocolate chip pancakes coming right up." I go put in his order and look over at him and he's staring right back at me. We both blush and look away at the same time. A few minutes later I hear "Two chocolate chip pancakes!" I pick them up and take them over to the brunette guy's table. I give him his check a little while later after he was done eating. He paid and left and I went to see if he left me a tip. He did leave me a tip but it was what was under the tip that made me happier.

Cody's pov

It has been the most boring morning at work. I'm a software engineer and I sit next to this girl Morgan who is the most boring person I have ever met. I decided since it was so boring I would just leave and go get some breakfast by myself. I went to this diner like 5 minutes away. I forget the name of it I got 2 chocolate chip pancakes and my waitress was HOT. I think her name tag said Kylie or Kayla I don't know. But she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I decided to show her how much I would like to get to know her I would leave her a pretty big tip and my phone number. A gorgeous girl like her probably wouldn't text a loser like me though.

Kayla's pov

He left me his number! The day was finally coming to an end and I couldn't wait to go home and text this mysterious guy from the diner. I got home and Morgan was on the couch watching Stranger Things. "Are you kidding me?!? I thought we were gonna watch this together!" "I couldn't resist I mean look at how hot Joe Keery is." I have to admit, Joe Keery is REALLY hot. "I got a guys number today." "Oh my god you have to text him right now!" "I don't know he seemed kind of weird. He was wearing a shirt that said MERCH across the chest." "Hold on a second. You got Cody's number??" "Who's Cody?" "The guy whose number you got. He sits next to me at work. He's super hot but he's also super annoying." "I don't care I'm not gonna judge a book by it's cover."

Kayla: Hi this is the waitress from the diner.

Guy from the diner: Oh wow I can't believe you texted me

Kayla: What's your name anyways?

Guy from the diner: Cody wbu

Kayla: Kayla

Cody and I talked all night. I told him how he sits next to my sister at work and he told me how boring she is. I told him about Bailey and he said he loves dogs and he really wants to meet her. I looked at the top of my phone and saw the time was 12:38 a.m. I told him I had to work in the morning and I had to go. I really hope I can see him again.
