chapter thirty three

annie's pov
it was the following, winter morning. i stretched my arms and legs. the only person awake was johnny, everyone else was sound asleep.

"psst! johnny!" i whisper shouted to him. his bunk was across from mine. "yeah?" he said looking away from his phone screen.

"let's go outside." i said. we both carefully slipped out of bed, doing our best not to wake anyone up.

we walked outside and the cold winter air bit our skins. "what did you want to do out here annie? it's cold!" johnny said rubbing the sides of his arms.

"well, you should've worn a shirt." i giggled. he laughed and rolled his eyes. "so, you've been distant last night. what's up? don't think i didn't notice." i smirked.

he looked down. "um, kenz.." he didn't finish his sentence. he looked down and let a tear escape his eye. "hey," i said softly. i pulled johnny into a hug.

he hugged back. it was a friendly hug, of course. "s-she broke u-up with me." johnny sobbed into my shoulder. "hey, it's okay." i said rubbing his back.

"what's-" someone came outside. it was hayden. "is he okay?" hayden asked walking closer to us. "i'll tell you later." i said still hugging johnny.

we released from the hug that kept us warm. "can i tell hayden?" i asked johnny." he sniffed and lightly nodded. "well, kenzie broke up with him." i sighed.

"really?! she's only been with johnny for two weeks! she can't do that!" hayden protested. johnny looked up and wiped away his tears.

"is it weird that i knew?" johnny said. "knew what?" hayden asked. "that's kenz was going to break up with me. like, i had a feeling. she's been acting weird... and it's a bad weird." johnny said.

i thought about it for awhile. "well, so has hayden here." i said looking over to him. "no i haven't." hayden said, obviously lying. that's one thing about hayden, he's a bad lier.

johnny and i look at each other then at hayden. "yes you have." we said in sync. "okay, annie, ruby blackmailed me. she said to break up with you or else she's going to release fake nudes that aren't even mine." hayden said.

i bit my lower lip lightly. "then do it." i said. "do what?" "break up with me." wow, that hurt me so much to say. "what? annie i'm not breaking up with you." hayden said.

johnny left and went back into the tour bus. "hayden, please. your career is on the line." i said. he had such a upset face, like a lost puppy. i wrapped my arms around his neck.

"hey, just till the drama is over, okay?" i said. "but can't we secretly date?" hayden asked, looking into my eyes, looking for mercy. i thought about it. "why not? but no one knows besides us. we can tell the world we broke up." i said.

hayden smiled and kissed my lips. "wow, haven't tasted you in forever." he smirked. i laughed and we both walked back inside the tour bus, feeling instant warmth.
