Ever since I was 6 years old, I had a friend whose name is Ashley. I met her at a park, behind some bushes. Me as a kid, I would play with any child on the playground without care. Not knowing how bizarre my mind had been transformed since I met her and the things following that moment.

Let me begin with the day we both met. There were other kids at the time, and we were all playing hide and seek. My hiding place was behind some bushes next to a picnic table. As I am waiting there, hiding from whoever was it, I heard someone behind me. I turn to see this girl with long dark brown hair. She had a light blue dress on, with black dress shoes on as well.

She looks at me and smiles. I smile also, but there was something about her. She looked familiar. Leaving the bushes to see if the other kids forgot about me, a man runs up to me and catches his breath. He held his hand up which was a sign for me to wait. Looking at this stranger I get a bad feeling about him because I knew at the time I wasn't supposed to talk to strangers. This man had a dress shirt, with dress pants, and shoes. He stands straight up and crosses his arms. He had a confused look on his face. Suddenly he spoke.

"You look so different, just a second ago you had a dress and long hair... What did you get yourself into?" he said shaking his head and suddenly, the girl I found in the bushes earlier, came next to me.

"You are crazy David. I am here. That girl is not me." She spoke, crossing her arms. He covers his mouth with one hand. He looked at me then at the girl, repeatedly. I crossed my arms and looked at him up and down.

"Hey mister, I know I'm not allowed to talk to strangers, but you need I'll tell you this only once. Don't mistake your daughter for someone else. It's sad not being recognised by your own parent. Anyway, I need to go. My mum might be looking for me." I said, and as I was about to walk off someone grabs my arm. I turn around and see that the girl was holding onto me.

"Don't go just yet, sorry if David here scared you. He's not my father, by the way, he's my butler. You see I'm here for just the summer, and I don't have a friend to accompany me these days since I am free." She said with a frown.

"Oh okay, what's this got to do with me?" I said using hand motions. The girl steps closer to me and smiles as she lets go of my hand.

"Will you be my friend stranger?" She said smiling. I looked at her and decided to think about it.

"Sure, why not? I'm Jessica." I said smiling. She smiles more if that was possible.

"And I'm Ashley Lissette Peppermint, nice to meet you, Jessica."

After that, life was more inexplicable than you'd ever think.
