Alex's POV

This teen named Alex is what people call a "psychonaut." Which basically means he likes to do different drugs and experiment. So one day he decides he wants to try a deliriant called Diphenhydramine (or DPH in short). Now some people would know this as the friendly antihistamine/sleep inducer which is found regularly in pharmacies over the counter. He got his pills, went home and took them,500mg . He also had a "brilliant" idea to mix it with Dextromethorphan (or DXM for short) which is over the counter cough syrup. Gross I know.

He waits for it to kick in, playing games on the computer and whatnot. Two hours pass and his screen starts to flicker blue. He smiled at himself and had two bowls of weed. Now he's "adequately fried." He lays on the bed and stares at the white ceiling. He sees a pattern on the ceiling appearing. Sort of like a whirlpool of straight lines. Which slowly changes into a face. But whenever he blinked it would disappear and come back slowly. He enjoys this little trip as he would sometimes hear his name called in different voices and have a conversation with something in his head. The body high made him feel heavy and his hand would sometimes twitch in bed but it was still euphoric. Overall good fun.

It's 10pm now and finally is tired out enough to sleep. He closes his eyes and sees a faint sort of zombie face biting at him, then disappears for a little, and comes back. Though it only "bites" him once and disappears. Didn't bother Alex.

He wakes up. He stills feels the body high and the ceiling is still warping. It should've been gone out of his system by now.... So he gets out of bed and does what he always does in the morning, straight to the bathroom. He does his business and looks in the mirror. His pupils were extremely small, he had a weird vibe from his reflection. He just couldn't help but keep staring at himself. He just looked so different but still looked normal in a way.

'Fuck it.' He says and leaves to go check on his family. But finds out his family is nowhere to be found. He picks up his phone, no reception. That's never happened before. He feels his heart start to beat faster, he starts sweating and breathing heavier. Then he panicked.

'Alright what the fuck is going on. Think. Think. Think...' He mumbles to himself, walking over to the living room couch and sitting down. Only explanation is the drugs.

'Maybe since I mixed a deliriant with a fucking dissociative. Dumb-ass.' He mutters again and face-palms himself lightly.

'What the fuck do I do?' His voice sounded defeated. After a disturbingly quiet five minutes he got up and put on his shoes. He brought his keys with his and closed the first door behind him. He grabs the door handle to the second door (in a unit) but stops himself. He unlocks his front door and runs to his room. Picking up a sword he bought in Thailand then went downstairs. The world was dark. And not like it's night-time dark. It's more like colour is dulled and everything just feels darker. The ambiance was just creepy. There were no birds tweeting, no people to be seen, it was just empty. He mouths "what the fuck" constantly as he's walking through his neighborhood before he decides to visit the local shopping center. Time and space was distorted as hell though. It's usually a ten minute walk, just a little over a kilometer away. But the walk went on and on, the shopping center didn't seem to come closer. But he kept walking, then he start jogging, then running, then sprinting. As fast as he could and suddenly he was in the car park of the shopping center. Still mouthing the words "what the fuck" repeatedly. He walked inside and saw no one in sight. Now this is a big shopping center. I'm talking three or four floors with three or four levels of parking. And there was absolutely no one in the whole center. Then he cleared his throat and 'Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!' He screams as loud as he could for as long as he could. He waited a bit for the echo to subside and decided he'll just go home. Until 'youuuuuuuuuuuuu' he heard someone scream back. He turned so fast it's a surprise he didn't trip over himself. It sounded not too far. He ran to the direction of the voice.
