I couldn't move, I was trapped by invisible chains tightly woven against my arms and chest. I could barely breath, my apartment was dark, and something was moving toward me. I could see it slinking it's way to my side. "Hello Harrison" it said, it's voice like nails on a chalkboard. "Don't you recognise me?" It read my terrified gaze as a no and seemed to smile. "I remember you. I want you to come back to me, make me whole again." I couldn't move or talk or else I would've screamed and ran for my life, I couldn't even summon a flame. The mass of black oil moved it's way onto my chest and over my face. "Let's play." It dripped into my mouth then shoved itself down my throat and filled my lungs. Then I woke up coughing. Somehow my cup of water fell and splashed into my mouth when I was asleep, it was a bit odd but I just rolled with it. I look at the time. 3:00pm. But when I took the nap it was 5:00. "I slept through an entire day! What the fuck!" I look at my phone and see five missed calls from my boss, probably to see where I am. 'If I lose my job I'll be screwed for rent this month!' I thought about trying the "sorry I'm sick" route but after listening to my messages, I already lost my job. "This is gonna be a fucked up month." I said to myself quietly.
