Adhira's POV

"Adhiraaa!" A loud voice boomed. "Are you ready yet? Make it fast please! We are getting late!" My Brother, Karan, screamed, more like whined, from downstairs.

"I am here, I am here, sorry!" I said rushing down the stairs "let's go."

"Waitt!" My brother suddenly stopped me. What is it with this man? He is beyond my understanding.

"What now?" I asked, annoyed. "I mean first you go all Hulk on me to hurry up, and now that I am ready and all set to go, you stop me."

Ignoring my mini-rant, he asked, "Have you kept your passport?"

Oh God! Are you kidding me? Well, here we go again.

"Yes, I have Bhai." I said in a calm voice, even though I was feeling anything but calm. "Now let's go!"

"Tickets?"

"Yes Bhai."

He continued, asking me if I kept various things while I continued replying with just two simple words 'Yes Bhai'. However, with each question it was getting harder to keep the irritation I was feeling inside from coming out. He was just worried is what I kept reminding myself until I couldn't anymore and I snapped.

"Phone?"

" KARAN BOSE," I gritted while pressing my lips in a straight line. "It's the tenth time you are asking me this. I have kept everything. For the love of god, stop treating me like a kid. I am not sixteen anymore so stop freaking out, okay? Now, please, can we leave for the airport?" Even though I wasn't screaming, each word I spoke was laced with the irritation I had been feeling inside.

Don't get me wrong. I really love my brother. He has been my pillar throughout my life but right now he wasn't being that pillar. Right now he was a pillar with slant edges, poking at my sides, irritating the hell out of me.

Well, he seemed to find my irritation amusing as his serious face turned into a smirking one. He ruffled my hair, his eyes glinting with amusement as I tried to swat his arm away. "Whatever lets you sleep at night, but to me", he said pointing towards himself, "you will always be my baby sis."

"And here I thought that my kids grew up." A gentle voice spoke and I turned around to see my mother, Professor Mira Baruni Bose, giving us an amused look. Great! Another family member finding amusement in my misery. Just great!

'Well at least someone looks ready.' I mumbled.

"I thought we were supposed to be on the road by now." She said looking at her watch. Before I could speak up, my brother replied, "We were just coming Ma." He then looked at me, smirked and continued, "I was just making sure that this brat, over here, didn't forget anything."

"GOD Bhai stop!", and suddenly realizing what he called me I gritted, "and don't you ever call me a brat again!"

"Whatever!" He said stretching the last syllable, acting like a brat. Remind me who's the younger sibling here again?
