"JOSH!" I heard a guy cry as foot-steps got closer to me.
I turned around, it was Matt.
"Jack, what happened?" Matt asked me.
"We were walking back to the hotel and some maniac driving bumped into Josh and shot him!" I replied.
"FUCK! I know I said on the phone 'we'll' be round but I didn't want anyone to worry. Max is still upset and Chris is trying to cheer him up and Dan and Ilona are trying to celebrate their engagement."
"Matt, don't worry, it's understandable. It's better the way only 3 of us know anyway. Anymore and it would feel crowded and I think I'd get more upset."
I heard an ambulance siren in the distance and it started to get closer.
They were here. They were here for Josh.
They took Josh, Matt, Hayley and I in the ambulance and asked me what happened. I told them and they were seeing if Josh was still alive.
"He has a pulse. For now anyway." The Ambulance woman said.
I looked at Matt and we stared at eachother. It was a worried stare though.
I saw Josh's hand on the edge of the bed and held onto it.
We got to the Hospital and they rushed Josh in. Matt, Hayley and I were running after hate. We couldn't lose Josh.
Seeing him wheeled down a Hospital corridor, looking like he was dead made me stop and break down. Matt hugged me. "It's okay Jack, he's a fighter." "I hope you're right, Matt. I really do." I then traced where Josh was and he was lying in a room on a bed, hooked up to a life support machine. -----------------------------
Hours went on and me, Hayley and Matt got moved into a waiting room whilst they removed the bullet and stitched him up. I was so glad Matt and Hayley were there to support me.
Matt's phone started ringing.
"Hello? Matt? Where are you? We're worried!" A recognisable voice said down the phone.
"Aw, erm. I'm at KFC.. They're on their way now. I don't know when they'll be back. Erm, I need to talk to you guys when I get back. It's kinda important."
"Oh, is everything okay?"
"No. Not really."
"Oh, okay. Tell me when you get back? Get home safe Matt."
"Who was that?" I asked.
"It was Dan, he's wondering where I am."
"You can go if you want. I'll stay here with Hay."
"Na, I want to be here when he wakes up."
Hours and hours went by on the clock. It felt like forever.
"You may see him now." A nurse said.
I jumped off my seat and walked down the corridor and stopped at the door with 'Mr. Joshua Franceschi' written on it. Matt followed behind me.
There he was.
Lying in a bed.
He was still.
I froze at the door, it scared me to see Josh like this. It was the one way I'd never hoped to see Josh.
I sat in the seat next to the bed with Hayley sitting next to us.
Matt looked at Josh and he was pretty speechless.
"I-I-I think I'm going to go now. Get back to the others. I'll tell them what happened. We'll probably visit tomorrow before we go back to London. Which reminds me, I'll have to reschedule you three's flights."
"No bother, Matt. Thank you for everything. It means a lot."
I stood up and hugged Matt. I felt him shaking. It must be horrible seeing your best friend in a hospital bed.
Matt walked away and Hayley and I stayed, sitting.
I started singing You Me At Six songs to him. It was weird because usually he'd join in, but he didn't.
I knew he could here me.
I fell asleep, I couldn't keep my eyes any longer.
I closed my eyes and drifted into a deep sleep, everything came back.
I started to calculate everything out, who it was that shot him.
Only one person came to mind. Hanna.
I continued my sleep and woke up around 4am.
God, only 2 hours sleep?
I sent Hayley to get a drink and some sweets for us.
I didn't want to leave his side.
Hayley come back with a Mars Bar and a bottle of coke for me.
I sat down and started to eat my Mars Bar.
Then his hand twitched.
