CASTLE'S POV
She would find out. She would find out. I kept chanting in my head. I loved her so much, and now. All lost just because of one mistake. I am so stupid..
It wasn't that bad? I mean I just have a child that I never told anyone about.. God. That was ridiculous. I rubbed my eyes in frustation.
I never really knew Claire. I just... left her. Was it my fault that she was dead? I could just remember her blonde baby head as I touched it a last time, before handing her to the new parents. She was asleep and she probably not even remembered me. I didn't really think of her, but everytime I saw Alexis I thought of Claire. Alexis was so similar but so different. Was Claire like her? I would never know.
KATE'S POV
"Are you sure? I don't want it..." I mumble, still shaking.
"..to be true? Me too, Kate." Lanie was looking down to me, pain in her eyes, mirroring my face.
"How do you even now that it is his daughter?"
"We have DNA from Castle. From so many cases..." Lanie sits up and pulls me with her. "Come on, Kate. You can do this."
I nod, and turn to leave.
"Kate? It's just his biological daughter. In her papers it says her parents are Brad and Ann Miller. Not Castle." She tries to defend him, but my angry and sad glare made her shut up.
I stormed out of the morgue, leaving the startled Lanie behind.
--
"Ryan? I want you to call the parents and tell them to come here." I call, and a cringe goes through me. I hated this part, but it was necessary. Especially in this case.
"And you, Espo, can you check the alibi of Alejandro? And invite his parents." My voice is strained, and anger is rocking in me.
"Where are you going?" Ryan asks carefully.
"I'm going to find the biological father of Claire." I snap and make a quick run to the elevator.
--
"Castle? I know you are ignoring my calls, but let me to you this. If you ever want me to speak to you again, explain what is going on." I hang up and nearly through my phone away. I was so angry.
Only seconds after my call I hear my phone ring. "Beckett?" I say into the phone, my voice being full of hope.
"Yes. Ryan here. The both parents are here, and things are going down..."
"What? Why?"
"Eh. Yeah. You need to see on your own."
"Ok, ehm, I'm coming." I mumble. I can't hide my disappointment as I walk back to the office.
--
"It's your fault that she is dead! Your Alejandro made her do some nasty business." Mrs. Miller was shouting at some very-well dressed lady. Their husbands were just standing next to them glaring at each other.
"Oh, really? Claire was just another slut that convinced my son that he loved her! The marriage was going to shatter sooner or later." Mrs. Davillo smacked her lips together and her eyebrows were pulled together in a frown.
I needed to giggle at the sight of Ryan and Espo standing helplessly at each sight of the women.
"Hello. I am Detective Beckett." I introduce myself and push the two ladies away from each other.
"Would Mr and Mrs Miller please follow me into the interview room?" I ask rhetorically, already turning around on my heel.
The two mothers glare each other for a second before Mrs. Miller follows me.
"I am sorry to tell you that your daughter was found murdered." I say, keeping my voice quiet and carefully.
"Oh. We know." Mrs Miller says, but tears start rolling down her cheeks.
"How, if I may ask?"
"We are her parents? Alejandro called us of course!"
"The same Alejandro you hate so much?"
"Yes, I know, but even he has manners."
I nod, and make a notice.
"What did you mean when you said that Alejandro made your daughter do 'nasty business'?"
"How do you think he earned all his money?"
"In his files it says stock investments?"
"ALL a cover-up!" Mrs. Miller exclaimed, making me roll my eyes slightly. We literally had no proof for that.
"Aha." was all I could say.
"Another question. When we checked your daughter's DNA, all routine, we found that she is not biological daughter?"
"We adopted Claire. We can't have biological children, but we love Claire." Mr Miller's clear voice spreads out in the room. He sounds serious, and lovingly.
"From Richard Castle?" I ask.
"Yes...?" Mrs. Miller's voice sounded fustrated and annoyed.
"Do you know any enemies of your daughter?" I ask.
"No. She was perfect." Mrs Miller says, and stands up to leave.
"And you better find her murderer!" She opens the door just enough for her to slip through.
"Bye." Mr. Miller says and follows his wife.

CASTLE'S POV
"Dad?" I hear my daughter's voice ring through the phone.
"Hey Alexis!"
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing. Just wanted to hear you speak.." I mumbled.
"Ok, then. You have. Sorry Dad, I need to finish this essay." With that she hangs up, and leaves me looking stupid.
I slumb down on my couch and try to bring up courage to call Kate.
"Had a fight with Kate?" My mother's red head pokes out from doorway.
"Not really.." I needed to admit.
"What is it, Rick?"
"You remember Claire?"
"How could I forget her..."
"She was murdered. And Kate figured out she is my daughter and..."
"And you screwed. Richard, just tell her the truth!"
"I can't. It's too late. And the truth is too horrible.." I whisper and stare out of the window.
