Alex's POV

They stood up, well tried to as their knees crumbled from the amplified relaxing effects of the weed.

'Fuuuuuck. I'm too fried for this.' Alex moaned.

'We have to find a safe spot. We're right in the open.' Jason urged.

'Have you seen what they looked like before?'

'No. I'd always force myself to sleep when they tried to break the door at EB.'

'Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. Oh what if we hide in the garage?'

'I broke the lock remember...'

'I'll hold it down. I'm strong remember.'

'Alright strong man. Can you walk to the garage?'

'Oh shit! The coke!' Alex's mind clicked and Jason rummaged through his pockets until he got the small bag of coke out.

'Are they strong?' Alex asked.

'Well there was only two so there might be more now that you're here.'

'Then we take a line and hope for the best.' They crawled to the garage and with all their effort stood up and closed the garage door. They took a small line and instantly they tensed up, their heart rate sped up and they shot to their feet.

'Turn off the light and stay quiet.' Jason whispered while holding down the garage door. Alex flicked the switch and it went dark, the only light coming from outside which was slowly fading. Alex crawled his way to the door and held it down too.

'It's never been quiet for this long. They came right after me on the first night. Maybe we'll be alright.' Jason whispered. But Alex knew he was wrong. His heightened senses were even more heightened thanks to the coke. He heard the sound of heavy boots slowly walking around somewhere in the neighborhood.

'Boots?' Alex whispered aloud.

'What?'

'I heard heavy footsteps. Like thick boots.'

'How far.'

'Pretty far. But it's coming closer. Slowly.'

'Fuck.' It went quiet again. Except Jason's heart rates was getting even higher, impossibly high maybe and it was loud.

'Calm down, you're heart rate's gonna attract them. It's almost as loud as me whispering.' Alex told him.

'I can't. I'm fucking terrified.'

'I'm here. We'll be alright.' And with that his heart rate gradually got slower until it was still at a fast 120BPM but at least it wasn't audible.

'I got them.' A deep voice growled. It growled like an animal and suddenly the footsteps turned to running steps. With four steps instead of two.

'Uh oh.' Alex said in a normal toned voice and instantly Jason's heart rate spiked back up. The veins in Alex's arms raised and his muscles tensed as he bent the bottom of the garage door until it didn't properly fit, leaving the door slightly open. Then he shoved it into the floor, locking them in.

'Give me some ket. My muscles are fucking killing me.' Alex ordered Jason. His voice stern and demanding. Jason quickly took it from his bag and gave it to him. He snorted a slightly bigger than normal line and instantly his body buzzed with pleasure as it replaced the pain in his arms.

'We know you can hear us Alex. Get ready to die!' A deep voice growled from down the street but the mix of ketamine, coke, weed and the adrenaline rush made him fearless.
