Still third person POV•

Dylan and Axel sit on Axel's bed. Axel turns to Dylan. "I'm going to wreck you at Mario Kart!" He exclaims.

Dylan laughs. "I'd like to see you try, Axel!" He exclaims back, earning a chuckle from the younger boy next to him.

Axel hands Dylan a joy con, their hands brushing together. Both boys blush lightly. Axel smiles shyly at Dylan, a smile that could make anyone's  heart soar. The younger boy turns on the Nintendo Switch and they start playing Mario kart.

Chance lays on his bed, pondering what he should do. Should he continue to apologize to Axel? Or should he leave Axel alone for a bit? A sigh escapes his mouth when he sits up.

Would Axel even forgive me? He thought to himself. What if he doesn't forgive me... ever..

A knock on his door pulls Chance out of his thoughts. "Chance, can I come in?" The voice says. Chance immediately recognizes the voice as Lilly's.

"Yeah.." he mumbles. Chance hurriedly wipes away the stray tears staining his face as his sister enters the room.

"Hey, big bro.." She says, making her way over to Chance's bed. She sits down on the edge, hesitantly smiling at Chance.

Chance cocks an eyebrow, immediately knowing that something is off with Lilly without even having to ask her. "What happened?" He asks.

"..Nothing.." She mumbles, earning a slight frown out of her older brother. "Tell me." He demands.

The younger girl sighs and looks at Chance, her eyes glossy and drenched with the pure feeling of hurt and betrayal. "You remember when I told you about how our cousin, Barry, promised me he would change..?"

Chance nods, putting his hand on his sister's shoulder. "Yeah, what about it?"
She sighs again, looking away. "He's back in prison.." Lilly mumbles.

The older boy wraps his arms around his sister, holding her close to his chest. "People like him never change.." he begins. "If you truly think that he can change, then give him a chance to prove himself.."
