Chapter 12: Taking on the First Trial

Disclaimer Alert: I do not own any of the following character from Pokemon. Here is chapter 12. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the story.

PS: Note that only for this trial, I will be mixing up the totem pokemon a little from the respective game. So, it will be based on either Sun or Moon.

"So here is the trial location huh...Verdant Cavern." You said as you and the rest stood outside of the cave and examine it structure. "I welcome you all to my trial site." llima said as he walks up behind you all which cause the girls startle. You look at him and ask "So what do we do here?"

Llima smile and explain "Well, the rules are very simple. First, only one participate can only enter at a time. Second, you guys have to defeat three pokemon in that in order to draw out the totem pokemon and lastly you have to defeat the totem pokemon to get the Z-crystal. Do note that you cannot catch any pokemon in there when the trial started. Failing to follow the rules will result in an automatic fail in your trial. Simple, yes?" (AN: The three pokemon can be either a Yungoos or Rattata.)

Ash, Serena and Lillie nodded and look at you as you shrug and said "Well that sound fairly easy. And, who shall go in and do the trial first?" Ash glare at you and said "Isn't that obvious? Me, follow by Serena, then Lillie and lastly is you. Seeing how things go, you will end up destroying the trial area some way or another." You let out a wryly smile and nodded as you watch Ash go in to attempt the trial.

You then decided to find a cooling place to sit as you waits for your turn. "May I sit with you [Y/N]?" Lillie ask as you nodded and send out Wimpod and check what kind of TM it can learn. "[Y/N] ...Are you scared of doing the trial?" Lillie ask as you turn to look at her.

"Why did you ask Lillie?" You ask in concern as you could tell that she is nervous for some reason. Lillie just kept her silence as she went to grab your hand. "Ah...I see... She is afraid of doing the trial along huh..." You thought to yourself as you look at her trembling hand.

"Hey Lillie...listen to me. When the first time I was kick out of the house to go on a journey, I was slightly afraid as I do not know what to do at that time." You said as she looks up to you. "Being...Kick out?!?" Lillie ask in surprise as she could not believe what she have heard.

"Yes...Well the reason is because whenever I was playing with my pokemon, half of my house will either be destroyed or reduce to nothings..." You laugh as you remember that moment when you were being call 'the destruction child'.

"Well that not the point. The point is everyone have their first time in doing something and of course they will be nervous about it. There is nothing bad or wrong been afraid of failing it in the first try since it is the first time the person doing or experiencing it. So, calm down Lillie. Whatever you will be experiencing inside, just remember I will be by your side no matter what." You said as you smile at her upon seeing Serena was already out of the cave obtaining her Z-crystal already. (AN: Do not think dirty guys! I know some of you will be think wrong upon reading it. *smirk*)

Lillie nodded and said "Thanks [Y/N]! After hearing what you said, it has cheer me up a lot. Okay! It time for me to challenge the trial already. Wish me luck!" With that, you see Lillie running into the cave as she starts her trial.

"That girl..." You mumble as you let out a small smile as you continue to dig you bag to see what TM Wimpod could learn. After finding for a while, you finally found it and let Wimpod to learn it. "I should sort my TM when I got the time... Darn, it always a pain to find things inside my bag." You mumble under your breath as you decided to take this time to sort your healing item.

After 25 minutes have pass, you notice Lillie have come out of the cave with the Z-Crystal. She then run up and hug you and said "[Y/N]! I did it. I obtain my first Z-Crystal!" You return the hug as you let out a small smile. "Congrats Lillie. Good job in obtaining the Z-Crystal." You said as you glance to look at the shining piece of Crystal.

"Sorry to interrupt your lovely time, but I am afraid it is [Y/N] turn to obtain the Z-Crystal" llima said as he let out a soft cough. You and Lillie then immediately let go of one another. You turn to look at the trial area and said "Let do this!" "Just don't destroy the area." Ash said as you give him a thumb up and enter the cave.

Upon entering the cave, you notice that there a couple of hole near the walls. You then wonder in silence until llima shows up and ask "What wrong?"

You then ask about the holes in the walls. "Oh, about that, those holes you see there are where the three pokemon hiding in. You need to lure them out to defeat them in order to lure out the totem pokemon that awaits you. Thou not a lot of people manage to lure them out easily."

"No wonder Lillie and the rest are slow..." You though in silence. You then ask "I was just wondering... Are the holes been connected to one another?" llima look at you in confuse and said "Yes, they are. Why did you ask?" You then let out a smile and said "Nothing... If so, it will make my life a hundred times easier."

You then when to the nearest hole and send out Wimpod. "Well then, let do this Wimpod!" You said as you put on a rain coat. "Wimpod use rain dance!" You said as Wimpod magically create a cloud of rain and it started to rain. "And now aim for the hole and use Surf!" You grin as Wimpod create a huge wave of wave into the hole causing all of the pokemon living in there to be flush out in a fainted state.

llima stood there with his mouth open, unable to comprehend what did you just do. "I guess I have defeated the pokemon and now where do I fight this so call totem pokemon?" You ask llima as you turn to face him. You saw that he stood there still in shock and sigh. "What is wrong with you? Hello?" You ask as you wave your hand in front of him.

He then shook his head and ask "W-What were you saying again?" You then ask him where is the totem Pokemon. "Oh, erm right. Follow me." llima said as he leads you the way. You then follow him to another exit which is located at the other side of the cave and arrive at an open field area. You then turn around to see nothing but only a weird looking pedestal with a sparkling stone that look like a Z-Crystal lying on top.

"Try reaching for the Crystal." llima said as he smiles at you. "Something is up...Not only that I could sense something is glaring at me. Where is it coming from?" You thought to yourself as you look around you as you make your way to the crystal. You then reach out your hand for the crystal. Just as you were about to reach it, two huge figures appear right in front of you causing you to jump back.

You then turn and saw two huge size pokemon standing there glaring at you. "What the?" You said as you turn and face llima. "Oi, I thought you said there is only one totem pokemon I must face? Why is there two?" You ask as you look at the both of them.

"I don't know. But it could be due to you knock out both Rattata and Yungoos previously when you use surf resulting in triggering the two totem pokemon." llima said as he looks at you and explain. "Seriously...Guess I have to take out the of them huh..." You said as you clutch your teeth in excitement while taking out your pokedex to identify them.

"Let see... The one on the right which look like some kind of sergeant is call Gumshoos and the other one which look like a Muchlax is a Raticate huh... I wonder what did Rattata eat when it is evolving which resulted in becoming a Muchlax Raticate. I guess that not the issue now huh..." You mumble as you send out your two pokemon, Mightyena and Wimpod.

"Heh...Let do this guy." You said as you let grin in nervousness as you watch the totem pokemon cover themselves with an aura.
