"Come on men! We need to get to the boat!" Zander, the leader of the group yelled. Zander was filled with excitement thinking of what awaited him. His friend had invited him to a social high class party. It wasn't the party that interested him, it was the thought of all the riches there that awaited him. While everyone was busy having fun, he and his men would steal all their riches. After finally convincing himself that they could pull it off, Zander agreed to come along. He had grown up on the streets and had decided a better life for himself. He studied the rich man's posture, his way of talking, he learned how to be a "rich man."
Even though he is a thief, he could pass as an aristocrat easily. His appearance had swoon over many women resulting in many lovers. He acted the part of a true gentle man and even looked like one. Shaggy black hair with bangs that fell to his face, emerald green eyes that a woman had described as "an angels master piece." Most of the time his clothes were old and tattered rags but when from a rich man, they became high class suits. He stood up and straightened his suit and tie he had recently stolen. He began to walk to the boat before it left them stranded. He boarded the ship with his gang of thieves, also dressed in the finest stolen clothing. As he looked back he spotted his friend.
"Nathaniel, is that you?" Zander called to his friend he had assumed to be on the boat already.
"Well if it isn't Zander, did you receive my invitation?"
"Yes, I did. I will be travelling with you to the occasion." He replied smoothly exercising his "high class stature."
Soon they arrive at the king's private island with a beautiful garden lining a huge mansion of three stories. The mansion itself seemed very high and proud of itself. As the walked by the garden Zander could not distinguish the flowers or plants growing in it for the heavy winter fog had rolled in kissing the plants leaves.
Nathaniel led the way for Zander and his gang. Inside a beautiful princess awaited them. Zander stared at her as his heart skipped a beat. He had been around many women but she... she was something different. She had been the first to make Zander feel different. Her long blue hair softly billowed down to her hips looking like small waves. Her eyes pierced Zander's heart, a soft pink with a dash of lavender that played with Zander's own eyes.
"Welcome to my father's party. I am very honored to meet you," her voice sounded like little bells in Zander's ears as he tried not to lose his composure.
"T..the pleasure is all mine," Zander stammered out. He mentally pushed himself and reminded himself that he was not here for this reason. Even as he thought this to himself he couldn't make his stomach settle down.
"Come on inside. Follow me," the princess said turning her soft purple gown followed her every movement and echoed them perfectly. Everyone followed and entered the ball room and observed their surroundings. Zander spotted the king at his throne sitting with grace and demand loomed in the air around him. Zander knew now that if he was going to act, he would have to do it soon and unnoticed.
Zander found an empty hallway after telling his men to spread out. He quietly took out a sack he had been hiding in his pocket and walked towards a shelf of trophies. He froze as he heard the soft patter of hills approaching him. He quickly put the sack away and turned to see who it was. The princess lightly walked towards him surprising him.
"Hello again princess," Zander said not sure if his nervousness was from almost getting caught or because of her.
"Please, call me Marie," she said with a soft smile.
