Once practice ended, Kageyama got a call as an assassin from his boss.
"Yeah?" He answered in a tired voice, but covered it up and stayed with a strong one. His boss was flipping through some pages as he sounded annoyed for whatever reason.
"Tobio." The setter gritted his teeth whenever his own boss would call him by his first name. It was disgusting. "There is an offer made by a man that's willing to pay quite a sum for someone like you," the insult hit him in the chest as his grip on the phone tightened. "But I can also see why. The man you're targeting is a man that's well known to lie his way out through everything, the cause of many bribes, and quote on quote, 'is a greedy ass bastard.' So If you're willing to-"
"I'll take it." Without thinking of who the man is, the consequences that would eventually result due to his choice, he took the offer.
"You sure? I mean this guy he-"
"He what? As long as I can kill him, I'll get the money and the man who was willing to pay would be happy, so what is the big deal?" His boss sighed. On the other line, the flipping of the pages stopped.
"The man has a flight to America in a few hours. If you can make it, you'll kill him on the spot. If you can't, you go to America and hunt him down." Kageyama didn't care. He subconsciously nodded and confirmed to his boss that he would take it. "Oh and..." Kageyama was just about the hang up until his boss continued to speak.
"Yeah?" He took his towel and wiped off the remaining sweat that trailed down his neck.
"Take a rifle." A small smile creeped up his face. Kageyama was excited. Since when was the last time he used a rifle? Rifles were his favorite and his best weapon. Many different brands and types he had and longed to use them, but never got the chance as he used knifes, handguns, and other weapons much more often than his beloved rifles.
"Gladly." The grim tone in his voice was heard by the third year and vice captain, Sugawara Koushi.
"K-Kageyama?" The assassin whipped his head around and made eye contact with the male.
He panicked.
Did he hear? Does he know? Has he found out?
His mind went to an overdrive and was close to slipping, but he held on.
"Hai?" Putting on a monotone face as he always had, he closed the phone and scratched his head, acting completely clueless. "Is there something wrong?" The shocked look on the third years face disappeared as he smiled a gentle smile, but the other could feel a form of trepidation radiating from the former setter.
"No... it's nothing. Can you help with the others with the cleaning?" Sugawara clenched his fists, hoping he wouldn't sound so... shaky. Kageyama laughed.
"Sure!" He put his phone away then proceeded to help the others with the cleaning
Once the setter left, the other's smile dropped.
"Who are you...?"
