"Okay I get not everybody is a reader, but seriously.. what is with all the dust in here?!" Grumbling, you continued dusting off books as you searched for one to check out.'So what if these authors' concepts are so called "absurd"? They're still interesting to think over. People shouldn't just neglect these books because of their concepts, right?'
You sigh as you shake your head of your thoughts, moving onto the next shelf of books.
As you quietly skim over all the dusty book spines, your attention is drawn to a nearby table of friends. Laughing and joking, you continue watching them as they have a good time.
'Must be nice..' You can't help but think and sigh once more.
Moving to this school about three months ago made you lose the only friends you had ever known. And no matter how hard you tried, it was hard to make any new friends, leaving you feeling utterly alone.
"You looking for something to read over here?" Turning around, you come face to face with a boy with a playful smile. "You must be a weird one, huh?" You can't help but deadpan at his words.
"Not really. I think I'm pretty normal."
"Really? Normal people don't look like they just finished crawling around in an attic that hasn't been opened in 20 years." He chuckled, gently grabbing a stand of your hair and getting rid of the dust in it.
You blushed and looked down at the current book in your hands. It was as if the dust was the book cover.
"I didn't even notice.. I should probably go dust off outside if there's so much."
"Probably. So you're actually checking out that book? It doesn't look like anyone's read it in a long time."
"Ya know, you're really judgey for someone I just met."
The boy smiled a huge grin and held his hand out for you to shake.
"I'm Taehyung. I didn't mean to offend you but you remind me of my friend, the only I've ever seen checking out books from this section. I think it's cool."
You shook his hand and smiled.
"Really? Maybe.. I could ask him for some recommendations?" You hesitated in asking. The moment seemed like the perfect opportunity to make friends and you didn't want to ruin it.
Taehyung's smile grew as he nodded excitedly, looking as if he was going to drag you away and introduce you right then and there.
"I know hyung wouldn't mind giving you book recommendations!" He paused, composing himself and letting a small smile replace his grin. "Why don't you come with me and meet my hyung?"
"Okay.. let me just check out this book real quick." You flashed him a small smile before going to the librarian's desk with him patiently waiting for you.
"Oh my, let me clean this off for you!" The nice librarian said with a sheepish smile when she saw the dust covered book.
While wiping and shaking the dust off the book, a paper fell out from the pages. Picking it up, you could tell it was old as it was yellowed and flat from being squished between the pages foo so long.
"That must be something left from the last reader, ah. Judging by all this dust, though, I'm sure they don't even remember it."
"Still, I wish to return it. Is there anyway to see who the last person to check it out was?"
"Ah, yes, right here! The last person who checked it out, more like the only other person that checked it out, was one Kim Namjoon."
"Okay, thank you!"
