~(Y/N)'s POV~

S-Sensei... I... I...

Someone grabs my hand and jerks me away to run. I almost fall over from the sudden motion. Whoever grabbed me is now carrying me bridal style. I don't bother to try and see who it is. I don't bother to try and see anything. I just...lost someone who I thought of as a guardian. I just lost someone who I had grown close to. This isn't like the time when Lloyd was captured. This is about life and death...a-and I just witnessed life turn into death of a human... Not just a human, but a human I cared for.

Ah...maybe this is why my father told me I should never get close to anyone and that it will only lead to pain.

Next thing I know I'm thrown onto the ground. This catches me completely by surprise, so my reflexes got me to land on all four. Not only that, but I'm finally aware of my surroundings. I now see that it was Jay who carried me. Behind him is the...Great Devourer.

I start to scowl. My eyebrows furrow in such...disgust—so much anger. My surroundings start to change a little and everything becomes a little brighter, making it better for me to see. Not only that, but my surroundings turn a faint tint of pink. I look at the Great Hunk of Everlasting Noodle dead in the eyes in so much hatred that my face turns blank. I'm tired of scowling—I'm better at smiling.

And that's exactly what I do. Honestly, I should be crying, but I'm not. With my eyes the way that they are, I couldn't help but notice the snake slow down a bit. Nevertheless, they continue forth.

Someone—most likely Jay—then hoists me up on their shoulder screaming, "WAIT!! WAIT FOR US!!"

Yep, definitely Jay. He doesn't even have to try and he already manages to calm me down, at least a little bit. But it's not enough for my eyes to calm down at all and my expression remains the same. I just have my hair to cover it. (A/N: Short hair/bangs? Fear not! That's why we've got imagination~!)

When we arrive, we all roll into the bridge. Literally. Jay threw me in as he continues to roll. I completely forgot that I have Lloyd's hoodie on me. His hood is over my head, so it makes it easier to hide my face. I don't want them to see me the way that I am or else, they might think of me differently.

I feel someone next to me. I turn to see who it is—Lloyd. He wears a sad expression on his face, but an encouraging smile to me. The smile that I kept on my face instantly calms down on that creepy scale, but the smile is still there. It's more of me trying to return the favor of a gentle smile, too. I'm not the only one hurting after all, everyone else is close to Sensei one way or another: the ninjas had him as their Sensei, after all, and along with Nya. He was also Lloyd's uncle, too.

Ah... 'Was', 'had'... All these past tense words. It makes me feel awful, but I don't find it in me to say that it's true. A part of me wants to say it's not real and that he's still alive, but I saw what happened in front of my own eyes. This type of stuff shouldn't even be exposed to young minds like Lloyd and myself, in all honesty, but the world has its own plans. I try not to let this consume my mind too much, but it's hard when it's freshly plastered onto my brain.

"Blasters on full!" Nya commands, which Lloyd immediately obeys to. The Devourer was just about to bite onto the ship, but we manage to get away on time.

Kai then cheers, "Take that, you stupid snake!"

As if jinxed, it breaks through the sand and almost bite into the ship again! How did it even manage to get in front of us so quickly!? W-Well, actually... Never mind! How did it even know where to jump up is my new question!
