Fire everywhere, our hills burning. Lost everything is lost. i gaze at the destruction before me. I must help i think. Quickly i run to the village of hills that was once my home. Before me i see my fellow dwarves defending themselves as best as they can. instantly i see Blooddrip Wolfkiller lying before me and unlike his name the blood was flowing not dripping. Spare the dying i shout in my head as i make my holy symbol in the air. His face starts returning in color. I now know he will be ok. I look around to my right i see my father Nikolas Starbringer he is also healing another dwarf. suddenly an ax protruded from his chest. With a stunned look he folded over. Shocked i froze hordes on hordes of dwarves drove through my friends. Being a dwarf myself i could tell these were not hill dwarves like me, but the battle hungry mountain dwarves quickly they over ran my fathers position. It was a death trap no hope of reviving him. Tears came quickly to my eyes as my fellow hill people retreated scooping Blooddrip and i as they went. “QUICKLY TO THE NORTHERN FRONTIER” I heard a yell from my left. Instantly i saw then sense in that. Mountain dwarves never like to be too far from their caves so these dwarves were obviously from the mountain range in the south of us. Plus to the north there is a human castle that would help us since we are on good terms. As swiftly as our feet could carry us we ran. It took the whole day and night but being dwarves we are a resilient race. Before us we saw the walls coming to view a little more and we will make it to the castle, though still with the mountain dwarves on our backs. The sentries on the castle wall saw us and shouted warnings soon the whole garrison was awake by the time we made it to their first markings. These are no ordinary markings though as the mountain dwarves will find out for themselves soon. Passing the second marker now i yelled at the top of my lungs “FIRE NOW! NOW QUICKLY HUMANS” someone heard me I think cause soon a missile was flying over our heads. That's right these are markings for the catapults “SURPRISE!” I yelled in defiance to the mountain dwarves. Soon noise filled the air as the other catapults fired following the example of the first. I risked a look back and then i saw it. Tears filled my eyes as i fell to the ground sobbing emotions gushing out. They were retreating we were safe . . . For now.
