Chapter 1
"I can't believe that it's the first day of summer!" I screech to my best friend ever, Grace on the phone. Today is the first day of summer and I couldn't be happier. " I know I want to go to the beach everyday, but then I would never be able to see you, well looks like i can't go to beach everyday but I can defiantly go 4 times a week!" If there is anything you should know about Grace is that she talks a lot, loves the beach, and always solves problems before someone else can say anything. I wait to hear if she is going to say more but I don't hear her so I ask
"Grace, are you there?"
" Ya I'm here sorry Ally."
" It's okay so what should we do on our first day of summer vacation?!?"
" Go to the beach, duh!"
" Okay I will pick you up to go to the beach in 30 minutes so be ready!"
" You mean your mom will pick me up and you will be in the car right? 'Cause both of us are 12 and don't get to drive until we are 16."
" oh come on you know what I mean. I have to get ready see you in half 'n hour!"
I hang up and jump up and down until I hear my mom yell " STOP IT ALLY YOUR GONNA BREAK THE HOUSE!!!!" oops "Sorry Mom I 'm just really excited!"

As we pull into Grace's driveway my mom says " I have a suprise for you two girls when we get down to the beach. Grace's mom knows about it but Grace doesn't know that there even is a suprise so don't tell her but I wanted you to know." My mind starts wheeling about what the suprise could mean. I jump when I hear Grace say to me " Are you okay you look kind of like your mind is having an earthquake?" I look behind me and see Grace shuttimg the car door and putting her bag down. I look at mom and she gives me one of those don't say anything to ruin the suprise looks. " i'm okay just thinking about all the fun we are gonna have this summer." I smile and look at mom. " Here we go!" she says. "here we go" I whisper to myslef "here we go."
