Sage

This was all my fault. Jaden said that he wanted to meet at the local library, and my sisters wanted to tag along to feel him out. Well, not literally. After Kerri dropped us off, the three of us wandered over to a table in the center of the library. We sat for about ten minutes before I got a text saying that Jaden was almost there.

"Guys trust me, you'll love him." Stella and Sabrina rolled their eyes at me and continued their own conversation about the guys at school.

"Shit, is that him," Stella looked over at me then towards the door. There he was in all of his masculine glory. He was so tall and had dark shoulder length hair. Normally, it's up in a bun but today it was flying everywhere. I perked up when I saw him getting closer.

My wolf was so on edge. She absolutely loved Jaden. Sage, he doesn't look good. I told her to shut up. Yeah he looked worried and seemed nervous, but he was my prince charming and I wasn't going to just leave him here.

"H-hey guys, want to get out of here?" Jaden approached our table and gave me a shaky smile. His bright hazel eyes hit mine with such a force.

Sabrina communicated with me through the mind link, "he looks like shit. Let's just go home Sage." I glared at her and turned back to Jaden.

"Yeah sure, let's go." I was so eager to be near him. I didn't even worry about my dad's constant saying to be alert at all times. If I had, I would have smelled the strong scent of Jaden's pack as we exited the building. Quickly, I turned around to ask him what was going on, before I could even meet his eyes, I was grabbed from behind and heard my sisters screaming.

Kerri

Spencer and the pack's men had something planned. There were Jeeps lined up outside and groups of me walking around. "Babe, what's going on?"

Spencer stopped eating and bit his lip. He had been quiet ever sense we got the message from Jaden's pack that Jaden's crazy dad had the girls. Stella's necklace was dropped off at the front of the pack land with a short note, 'Checkmate.'

I had done all I could in the three days following to keep Spencer calm. He was understandably upset, but I didn't want him to go out and do something stupid.

"Some of us are making the trip tonight to get the girls. We're taking five vehicles. We should be back after midnight."

He went back to eating his dinner in utter silence. "Do you think the girls are oaky?"

He stopped eating once again and gave me a dark look. "Kerri, Jaden's dad is psychotic. I strongly doubt they are anything close to fucking oaky. If you don't mind, I want to eat without being bothered every two minutes."

I gnawed on my thumb and left him alone. Guilt was eating me alive. I took them there. It was my fault.

Stella

Maybe next time my idiot of a sister will listen to me when I tell her that something is a bad idea. "Sage," I growled at her. She whimpered in front of us. She was curled into a ball, and I could hear a wolf whining. "Stop whining and get us out of here! You and your stupid boyfriend got us into the mess, now get us out of it." We were wrapped up in heavy chains and it felt like we had been down here for a month. Wherever we were, I prayed we could leave soon.

"Ah ah ah, not so fast girls," the steel door opened and the disgusting Alpha Morrows sauntered in with his stupid-faced son. "The party isn't over yet for you scum."

Sabrina screamed in anger, "Let us out of here you freak!" The sad excuse for an Alpha laughed and locked the door behind him.

"Shut your stupid mouths or I'll kill all of you." A low snarl escaped Jaden's lips as he looked at his father. Hell, I guess he actually cared about my sister. Although, he had a sick way of showing it. "Son, you know better than to court outside of your pack. Your feelings for this thing, will end now." Morrows was seething in anger and I was freaking out. So were my sisters.

What is his problem? Sage whimpered.

If he lays a hand on one of us, I'm going to snap on his scary ass. Sabrina had a way of being the defiant one.

"Jaden, hit her." Our heads snapped toward fucking Morrows. He better not hit any of us. Morrows had an evil glint in his eyes as he stared down at Sage. Her brown hair was a tangled mess and she was heart-broken. If Jaden actually hit her, she would be ruined.

"Dad, wha-"

"Alpha."

"Alpha, please. I can't harm her." Jaden looked like shit. He was distressed as he looked wildly at his father and back at my sister.

"Jaden, if you don't hit her, I will kill the three of them while you watch." Morrows snarled and made a move towards Sage. I yelped and struggled against the chains. Jaden got in front of his father and before I could protest, he striked my sister.

"Stop it!" Sabrina and I screamed and cried. This family was crazy and we had to get out of here before we die.

"Again."

Jaden shot his dad a look. They stared at one another before Morrows growled and strode over to Sabrina. "Stop! Please!" I begged. I knew he'd kill her. "Please," I sobbed.

The sharp crack of flesh hitting flesh made me sob. He had hit her again.

"Punch her, Jaden. You are too light with your hand."

"Dad," he sounded so broken. "I cannot hurt her."

Alpha Morrows punched his own son in the face and grumbled about showing him how it was done. I shook in fear as he creeped toward Sage. She was splayed out on the floor with a busted lip and swollen face.

"Stop," I cried. After the first hit, I dry heaved and covered my ears to block out my sister's screams.

This is all a bad dream, I told myself as I rocked back and forth.
