Chapter 3: A Change of Heart

Hye Mi's Pov

The four of us are currently at the school's guidance office. Being scolded for an hour is rough.

"Eun Bi!! The first day started and you already have two records at the guidance office, can you please discipline yourself?" The counselor shouted infront of Eun Bi.

"Plastic surgery is also bad right? Why don't you also scold that girl that looks exactly like me" Eun Bi said to the counselor without any fear.

"Hye Mi, what's your relationship with Eun Bi?" The guidance counselor asked. Such a good question to ask but...

"Even I don't know why we look excactly the same. I am living with my grandmother since I was a kid" I said. I saw Eun Bi rolled her eyes.

Rather than our relationship, I was more shocked when Taehyung came to my room just to shout at me.

"One more time I see you in the office Eun Bi, you'll get suspended for three days plus, facility working" The GC said.

"Not again" She rolled her eyes and walked out. That kid needs a serious discipline.

Before we exit the office, we bowed to the GC.

"Jungkook!" I shouted out to him. He looked at me without any expression visible on his face.

"Thank you for saving me for the second time" I said. He smiled a little then walked casually.

How many times do I need to feel like this?

Taehyung disappeared. I think something is going on with Taehyung and Hye Mi.

Math Class!!! Shoot! I forgot!!!

Time Skipped~~

What a first day. I am very exhausted and I just want to lay on my bed for many hours but, I need to work.

I already had a record in the guidance office which is very rare for me. I should just be thinking about school and work for the future.

Getting ready for me to go to the cafè, I felt a strange feeling. When? When I think about Jungkook and Taehyung. This is weird.

I grab my umbrella then walk towards my workplace.

While walking towards the cafè, I remembered something strange that might give a clue regarding to my relationship with Eun Bi.

One month ago~

My grandmother entered my room and I was pretending to be asleep. She was crying.

"I promise I'll tell you everythig when you turn 18. I can't believe how much you've grown" She said to me and kissed my forehead.

What will she tell me? What if it's about my mother?

The next morning after the incident~

"grandma'!" I called out to her.

"Yes Mi?" She asked sweetly.

"I know this is so suddenly but, where's my mother?" I asked. She smiled but I knew that smile was fake.

"I already told a a hundred times that your mother is far away from korea" She said.

"But why? She doesn't even give us money and the strange thing is, I don't know what she looks like. Since I was a kid I could only see her through my imagination and the most braking part is that, I don't know whom I was really thinking" I said crying. She hold her heart like she might end up dying.

I held her and regretted what I said. I shouldn't bring this kind of topic to her. This is all because I'm a selfish person that only thinks about my unreal family.

"Sorry" I said then walked away. It was so hard for me.

Present~

Hye Mi! You need to be strong. You're not adopted ok? You'll be living with grandma for many more years.

Jungkook's Pov

The moment I saw Hye Mi was a different feeling. Knowing that she looks like Eun Bi, why doesn't I feel the same anger?

To lift up my confusion, I went to the nearest cafè. It was about to get dark and it looks like it is going to rain.

Wait...... She's working here?

I saw her at the cashier. It doesn't make sense. She's studying at a prestigious school. Why does she even need to work?

I need to get out of here before she see me.

What a luck! It's already raining and I didn't even bring a coat or umbrella.

Well, last choice. I need to stay here and just order and stay calm.

I saw Jimin wearing a cap and a face mask. I should've known earlier that it was him.

"Hyung!" I called out for him.

"Ohh... Jungkook. It's been a whi-" He was going to say something but I cut him off.

"Can I borrow your mask and cap" I asked. He just nodded and made an irritated face.

I was walking towards the cashier.

Hye Mi's Pov

I was doing my work, while making cafè and stuffs. There are more people here than usual since it's raining. Rather than avoiding our cafè, they will find our cafè as a shelter.

I saw a man walking towards my direction. I can see that he is avoiding my eyes. Why?

"Sir, what order would you like to have?" I asked.

"Americano-latte with chocolate expressò with less sugar" He said. He looks so suspicious and at the same time, familiar.

"Ok sir. What's your name?" I asked.

"Ju- Ju Yeon" He answered. Is he nervous or something?

"I'll just serve the drink sir. You can already sit" I said. He just walked away. Why does he seems familiar.

Jungkook's Pov

It will be a complicated scenario if Hye Mi see me. She might end up quiting her job.

Jimin was looking with a raised eyebrow.

"Jungkook-ah. You never put your status down just for a job" He said. That is the riddle in my head right now.

"Aiisshh! Beats me!" I said. I don't really know why I'm being too kind, infact that I am a troublemaker in the school.

"Here's your order sir" Hye Mi said. I didn't even bother replying. Being too kind to a person won't change anything.

Hye Mi's Pov

I was looking at the person who was wearing a mask and a cap. He looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

He looks handsome even though I can't see his entire face.

"Hye Mi it's already 7 pm. You can go now" My manager said. I smiled widely and bowed at him.

"Also Hye Mi, here's your pay with a little bonus and you can take your leave tomorrow since I'll be attending a wedding" He said. Is this true? I'll be free by tomorrow?!

Then that means I can sleep all day after doing my assignments!

Time skipped~

I am now standing in front of our cafe.

I am very speechless since the boy in a mask was also standing near beside me.

I can't just leave him alone and make him wait for the rain to stop.

"Amm... Sir, you can take my umbrella. I'll just go ahead since the bus station is near here. Have a good day then" I said then run while the rain is falling so hard.

Jungkook's Pov

Hye Mi ran off and gave me her umbrella. She might get a cold after this but, she's the one to decide so..... I'll just take it.

Maybe being kind to her gives me little by little advantages.
