Say Something

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I scream when the masked intruder aims a gun at Zak.

I'll be the one, if you want me to

Thinking rashly and quickly, I throw myself at the man and tackle him to the ground.

Anywhere, I would've followed you

A gunshot rings through my ears, and I wince at the sound that follows, the only sound I can hear.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I look down, and blood is welling up on my stomach.

And I am feeling so small

Panic runs through my mind, and I take deep breaths.

It was over my head

I can faintly hear everyone's voices, yelling at me.

I know nothing at all

My vision rings black, and I lay down gently, looking up at the fading ceiling.

And I will stumble and fall

The intruder's footsteps vibrate in my ears as he escapes.

I'm still learning to love

Zak kneels down next to me, pulling me to my chest.

Just starting to crawl

I look up at him with watery eyes as he turns and says something, but I can't hear.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

My turquoise eyes flutter shut, and I sigh.

I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

I'm shaken slightly, and I open my eyes.

Anywhere, I would've followed you

All I can make out is the blurry outline of Zak, and someone else next to him.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Lights flood my vision, and I'm picked up bridal style and set on a white rolling bed.

And I will swallow my pride

The new people roll me out into a truck.

You're the one that I love

So these are the Paramedics?

And I'm saying goodbye

I clutch my stomach and cough violently, the tangy taste of blood filling my mouth.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

Someone else jumps into the truck, sitting in a chair beside me as the truck moves forward, jolting me a bit.

And I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you

I look up at the face, and I strain to focus my eyes.

And anywhere, I would have followed you

"Zak . . ." I murmur and reach my hand up, resting it on his cheek.

Oh, oh, oh, oh say something, I'm giving up on you

He holds it before it collapses by my side.

Say something, I'm giving up on you

I close my eyes and let out a shallow, shaky breath.

Say something

"Goodbye, my love . . ." I whisper and take a last, deep breath before falling into a forever slumber.

A/N
This hit me in the feels, man. I cried while writing this. And yeah, this One Shot is short because this is a short song. Like, all of the other One Shots are over 1000 words, and this one is only 439 😁
