Chapter One(:
The second I woke up in the hospital bed and noticed that I no longer had my left leg and arm, I knew something was wrong. Thoughts flooded my head; what happened? Did I get in a car crash? Was there an earth quake? Did I fall off a chair while trying to see what was in my freezer? So many possibilities, but not alot of answers.
My thoughts were interepted when a doctor walked in to the room. I didn't even bother talking, because the second she saw me awake, she sprinted back out of the door. 10 seconds later she came back with my parents.
''Sarah I'm so glad you're awake!'' My mom blurted out, completely avoiding the fact that I was missing two limbs. My dad was going to speak but I ended up interupting him.
''Awake? Where was I? What happened? Why am I missing my arm and leg?'' My eyes began to water. Sometimes my sensitivety is hard to grip.
My mom sat down on the end of my bed, where my left leg should have been, which make me even more emotional. ''Well lets start off-'' She started talking, her eyes peircing into mine. ''4 days ago, our family, including you, went to the amusment park 4 miles from where we live. You and your friend Alyssa, went on the sky lift. Your flip-flop starting falling off so you bent down to slide it back onto your foot, so it didn't fall off during the ride, however you ended up falling-'' She stopped. At first I didn't know why, but when tears started falling from her face, I understood completely. My dad turned around and stood in the corner.
Trying to hold back the waterfall that was about to drench my face I exclaimed, ''What? I fell and somehow my leg and arm randomely fell off? That doesn't make sense!''
''Half of your body, your arm, and your leg, fell onto a fence.'' My mom added, then everything got silent. Thats when I started too basically impersonate fountain. A heavy flowing one. So many different things entered my mind. The fact that my chances of swimming were destroyed. I had to be a handicap for the rest of my life. I could't-
Another doctor came in, and broke up the silence. ''Alyssa wiill be in the same room as you tomorrow.''
I looked at my mom, and she knew that I was about to yell. I could feel her get ready. ''You said I fell. Not once did you say Alyssa fell. Mind telling me the WHOLE story?''
Guilt caved over her face. I don't know why. But befroe I had a time to think about the reasons, my mom started talking. ''I know, I said you fell but I wasn't finished with my story. When you slipped off of the sky lift, Alyssa tried to catch your arm and she too fell.'' Her eyes let out more tears, along with mine.
''Well...what happened to her?'' I was anxouis, and scared. Scared for my future, and scared for Alyssa.
''She's only missing her hand.'' My moms facial expression didn't change as she spoke. ''But theres something I have to add.'' There was a brief pause, then she continuted to talk. ''When you fell, your also hit your face on the cement.''
I didn't even bother listening to the rest of what she said. I turned to my right, and looked in the mirror hanging off the door. My entire face was deformed.
