A lone raven caws as a black sedan pulls up on a dark alley, on a bright Saturday morning. I step out of the car and was greeted by a thin hooded figure, who bowed as soon as he saw me. "Brother Amaan" the figure greeted.
I bowed in response, "Brother Jason". Jason smiled, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Come now my child, we have work to do.". I nodded in response and followed him down the alley. A door opens to my right, previously obscured by a poster, and Jason enters, and I follow. I find myself unconsciously gripping the hidden shape underneath my robes. Jason notices my nervous movements,
"You won't be needing that yet, Brother," he says. I nod and hesitantly let my hand fall.
We reach the end of the hall and are greeted by another figure. This figure strangely doesn't wear any robes, and his face isn't covered by anything. In fact, all he seemed to have on was a trench coat. I felt a cold hand on my shoulder, and I immediately sprung into action. One minute, my hands were empty, the next, they caressed an arbiter sacrificial dagger. An ornamental dirk knife whose handle was longer than the blade. I turned to see a familiar face.
Brandon held his hands up in a gesture of surrender. "Okay, okay, jeez kid, can you put that away? Jeez." I slowly sheathed the blade and turned to see a few guardsmen whispering. Rolling my eyes, I turned my attention to Jason and the newcomer. He had his usual sadistic smile, while the newcomer just smirked.
Jason eyed the guards, as they nodded with understanding and bowed as they left. He turned to me as I took off my robes.
"Be the leader??" Jason mused as he read the words on my shirt.
"We've got a WEB day today," I reply. "WEB?", Jason sounds even more confused. "Where everyone belongs," I reply.
"To be honest," Jason starts, "everyone belongs in hell."
"Amen," the others chorus.
I blush, embarrassed, "It's just our first meeting in summer."
"Whatever," the trench coat guy interrupts. "What is a kid doing in our ranks" he snarls. I sigh and walk past the group towards an obsidian block in the center. I kneel forward and pull out my knife, given to me by Jason not much long ago, And I begin.
