CHAPTER 21
The sun was setting. The ocean's shine reflected the colors of the sun set back to Santa Monica with rays of red, orange, and pink lights. The feeling of of serene filled Skyler with emotions she had never thought she would ever have. She stood tall and firm feeling the gentle breeze blow through her hair and through every part of her body. She loved the sight, but mostly the fact that she wasn't alone. She inhaled the ocean's breeze and let it carry freely in her chest.
As she slowly let the air out two strong warm hands held on to her shoulders. The touch of the hands did not startle her, but comfort her with a warm sensation of recognition. The hands, the warm touch, they showed no signs of guilt or shame. These were the hands she was longing for, but as though she knew they touch she did not know who they belonged to. That made everything sad, as she stood their with the hands heavy on her shoulders tears began to blur her vision of the ocean and of its beautiful reflection of the warm sun. What was happening? Why must she suffer through such torment of not remembering? Skyler then slowly and softly said,
“I can't remember.”
Skyler jerked her eyes open as if something startled her. She slowly sat up on her bed and touched her face lightly. Wet? Why was her face wet? She then touched her eyes lid and noticed she had been crying in her sleep. Was her dream that realistic to her that her body actually reacted to the dream? Skyler then pulled her knees close to her chest and hugged then while burring her head to her knees. Her dreams where slowly taking control of her, telling her things she never even heard of or thought she would ever hear.
Things that she had done in the past and the happiness she found them. Skyler brought her head up and whipped her tears away with her hand and then looked around her room. She then eyed her alarm clock that sat on her computer table and noticed it facing the wall. She then looked again all around her room for any movement, but all she noticed was her computer chair facing her direction. She then thought for a moment and wondered if it had been Vitcus.
She then remembered Vitcus staying with her until she fell asleep, maybe he stayed longer to watch over her. She then picked up her alarm clock and turned it back her direction. The red digital digits read 3:15 am. Skyler then turned the clock away from her whispered,
“Horrible time to suddenly wake up.”
She now hoped that the morning didn't bring any bad omens. It was dangerous for someone who believed in a divine power or god to wake up or stay up at such a time as 3:00 am, for it was the time in which god and banished Lucifer to the underworld, hell. Skyler then touched her moon amulet and whispered,
“This was also the time the portal between this world and the underworld were connected and the evil creatures entered the mortal world.”
Skyler then looked out her window and noticed the moon was missing. This now frightened her, Skyler was now vulnerable. It was a new moon and for three nights she will be vulnerable, her power will be weakened and the evil of the world where at their best for destruction. Her then held on to her amulet and laid back on her bed and placed her covers over and tried hard to sleep and forget both the dream and her weakness.
Skyler suddenly fell into a deep sleep and her dreams began again, only this time harder and more realistic as then the next morning Skyler jerked up and placed her hand on her head trying to attain her reality that was her sitting on her bed all sweaty and uneasy.
