Gavin-

Chelsea is so sweet most of the time, but she’s also stubborn and as ferocious as a lion when she wants to be. For instance, tonight at dinner when she stood up to my Mysteries of High School producer Cullen Price. No one has ever done that before Chelsea. We make it back to my flat only stopped a couple of times for pictures and autographs by tourists. Not bad for two celebrities on a five block walk down a paparazzi infested town.

“And now presenting America’s next top high school model. Kelly White coming to you from Pineview California. Wearing a prom night special brought to you by Anthony Greenly!” Chelsea enthusiastically introduces her friend from the bottom of my staircase. Kelly walks out of one of my spare bedrooms in a strapless olive green dress hugging her curves. The skirt trails behind her on the stairs as she makes her way down. “Doesn’t she just look amazing?” Chelsea says letting her friend have the spotlight. She’s right Kelly does look stunning.

“Kelly you do look great.” I tell her, “If I wasn’t all ready taking Chelsea to the dance I’d take you in a heartbeat.” Kelly looks down and her cheeks redden.

“Chelsea’s gown is great too.” Kelly says, her modesty getting the best of her.

“And you can't steal my prom date.” Austin says, “But if you let me have a dance with Chels, you can dance with her.”

“Boys,” Chelsea says, “We are not a prize to be won or bargained for.” She crosses her arms and frowns looking at each of us. Austin ducks his head in embarrassment.

“Chels, come on, let’s go get your dress.” Kelly says eagerly.

“No, I’m going t make them wait for Saturday.” She says, an evil grin playing at her lips, “I'll pick out the tie, vest, and corsage. They’ll just have to wait for the dress. It’s like hiding a wedding gown from a bride groom.” Kelly slips upstairs and changes back into her jeans and t shirt.

Did she just compare her prom dress to a wedding gown and me to a bride groom?

“Chels, Austin, Gavin. I have to head back to the hotel where I'm staying. It’s a 10 minute drive and it’s already 10 till 11 so I'll see you tomorrow.” Kelly says.

“Kell, take my dress home with you will you? I don’t want anyone trying to sneak a peek.” She heads down the hall to her room and comes back with a black dry-cleaning bag. “I'll come over on Saturday and we can get ready.” Kelly lays Chels’ bag atop of her and heads out. Chelsea goes right into work mode, “I contacted several men’s clothing designers they’re cool with putting together some formal dress clothes for you. We’re meeting up with them at 435 in the Weston Hotel. Kelly will be here to help Austin, and then she has the drive back to Pineview. She’s leaving right after we’re done it’s a three hour drive.” She starts making notes in her tablet, “We have a Mysteries of High School meeting at ten tomorrow, so I’m going to bed. I'll see you boys in the morning.” She turns with her phone and tablet in her hands and heads up to her room. Still making notes on her tablet.

The meeting Chelsea was talking about last night is a showdown, Stonefield vs. Price. Cullen is yelling at Chelsea for not wanting to do the interview. He decides it is completely pointless when he asks for her opinion all she does is shrug. By 1130, our lunch is at the studio for everyone. Chels, Austin, and I all sit outside under a tree. “Cullen’s going to hate you before you even start your first episode.” I comment taking a bite of my sandwich.

“Well, that’s life.” She shrugs, “Not everyone’s going to love you.”

“Chels, that’s not the point.” I tell her, “You haven’t even tried to get him to like you.”
