Bittersweet Romance

This all started with yet another routine day at my job. I had just finished serving someone their coffee when the bell rings indicating that someone just walked in and I use my automatic response "Hello welcome to Scarbucks how can I help you?" but suddenly I heard the most beautiful voice say the words "Just a vanilla frappuccino please!" when I looked up my eyes were invaded by the most beautiful person I've ever seen. They had amazing wavy short chestnut hair and the most beautiful brown eyes I've ever seen. And of course they had the cutest freckles ever! They were slightly chubby but it was simply adorable! As I was zoning out my coworker took over for me and rung their order up. And of course I took the opportunity to talk to them as soon as they came to pick up their drink. I almost stuttered as I said "excuse me? I hope you don't mind me saying this but you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." He was slightly blushing as he responded "Thank you, of course I don't mind it's just rare to get compliments like that. I'll see you next time I come here. Thanks," they squinted a little to read my name tag "Evan, see ya!". As I saw them walk away I knew that I had a huge crush already. How could I not have a crush! They were the most adorable person I've ever seen! I hope that they come tomorrow! Ugh I never even got their name! I'll try to ask them if they come tomorrow. The next day was just as routine, but I still had some hope that they might show up. And finally about twenty minutes before we close I saw him walk in and wave to me. "Hey Evan! Can I have a vanilla frappuccino and a cake pop please?" They finally showed up! Now I have chance to ask their name! "Of course! And what's your name?" He flashed that perfect smile at me and said "Oh right, my name is Kai!" As I wrote his name on the cup I also wrote down my number asking him to text me so we could be friends since he seems really nice. I hope he does. I let my coworker finish Kai's order for me and took the next person's order waiting for my shift to end so I could check to see if Kai texted me. Ahh! I almost forgot that I absolutely have to tell all of this to Damien! There is no way I could get by without telling my bff about the cutest person I've ever seen!

As soon as my shift is over I grab my phone to check it. As soon a I turn it on I see that both Kai and Damien texted me. Of course I go to check Kai's message first. Hello! Its me, Kai from the coffee shop! I laughed to myself while I was walking home. It's funny that he decided to add the "from the coffee shop" part. I immediately texted back Hey Kai I'm glad you decided to text me! How are you?. Ugh I hope I didn't mess that up too bad. I went to look at what Damien texted me about, probably one of the new books he has gotten into. But I was honestly bewildered about what he actually texted me So, are you gonna tell me about that cute guy you were flirting with at the coffee shop? What the heck? How did he know? Eh he must have come to see me and just happened to notice it. Either that or he just walked by and saw. I texted him back and said Ugh were my flirting methods THAT obvious? When I got back to my apartment I decided to just make some ramen and re-read one of the Harry Porter books, it is one of my favorite book series. Just as I got settled in and comfy of course there was a knock on the door. "Ugh I'm coming, I'm coming!" I yelled as I lazily pulled myself off the intoxicatingly comfortable couch. As I opened the door I wasn't surprised to see my neighbor and best friend Damien. As I opened the door he just let himself in, made himself comfortable on the couch and said "So....tell me everything that happens with cute mystery dude." I sit down next to him and say "Somehow I just knew this was going to happen." I quietly laughed at my own little joke. He gave me a look that told me he just wanted to hear about Kai so I started ranting. "Well he is just the cutest thing I've ever seen in my whole life! His name is Kai, and he and the cutest freckles and just the prettiest eyes! He is just so perfect and sweet! Oh! And guess what! I gave him my number! And he actually texted me! Ahhhhh he is just soooo amazing! He smirked at me and said "Ok ok, just calm down a little. Well at least I know that you have an intensely serious crush bro." I frowned at his words "But he is sooo perfect! I dont think its possible that he could be single. And even if he is how could he possibly like an awkward nerd like me?" Damian just lightly punched me on the shoulder and said "He texted you back right?" I nodded yes to his question "And it's not like your flirting is at all inconspicuous man. So there was no reason for him to contact you if he didnt like you. So I say ask him out! Its go big or go home man!"

It's been a few months since that, and obviously I went with Damian's advice. And thank god it worked! Kai and I have been going out since that night!

(From here on is Damian's P.O.V for some reason lol)

I don't know I like this idea of people knowing how I feel. It's not like I can do anything about it yet though. Anyway Im glad that Evan got with Kai. It looks like he makes him so happy. But it almost feels like i'm being cast aside. Like i'm being forgotten. That has always been one of my worst fears. At least I think it is. Honestly I can't really remember anything from before Evan meet Kai. And these past few months were a blur. But it's strange....I always feel like someone is watching me, and when I dont everything seems gray and blurry, and I just feel like a blank slate. Like an empty shell waiting for some kind of force to tell me to do something. I think I understand now though. I'm in a story aren't I? In some kind of book or something. I can feel every letter my creator types. I can feel all of your eyes looking at me, watching me like i'm some kind of creacher in a zoo. Wait. I can see the beginning. I'm not even the main character aren't I? Am I just an extra? Do you think i'm just some stupid thing here to help you further the plot! You think you can just use me and then forget about me?! Ha ha I'll show you. I'll show you that you can never forget me. Ill prove to you that I am the main character in this! What to you say we make this romance into a horror huh?

Back to Evans point of view, I can't wait for you all to see just how unforgettable I can be!

I'm so happy! Today we finally unpacked the last box meaning that Kai and I now officially live together! As I went to get a cup of hot cocoa I heard Kai scream. "Evan! Help me!" As I ran in I just saw him walking toward the balcony looking horrified and confused. "Kai! What is it?! What's wrong?" He looked at me with a look of absolute horror on his face. "Evan. I...I can't control my body! It's just moving on its own." As he said this he was moving closer to the edge of the balcony. Oh my god no! It looks like he was about to jump! "Kai! Why are you doing this? Why would you be trying to jump and acting like you're not the one doing it? I thought you were happy with me!" I wanted to try to stop him but my body refuses to move. He turns to me with tears streaming down his face. "Evan! Before this happens I just want you to know that I love you more than anything and you made me the most happy person in the world. And please you have to believe me when I say that I am not the one controlling my body." I start crying realizing that what he is saying must be true, otherwise I would already be over there holding him in my arms."No Kai. I love you. Please! Please don't leave me!" We are both sobbing uncontrollably as his body falls backwards and soon after thuds onto the pavement. The day after that Evan was found dead in his apartment. He was so depressed after Kai's "Suicide" that he took a handful of pills to end his suffering and to be with his beloved Kai.

Haha! Do you see now? How horrible of characters they were? Well now that they are gone you don't have to worry about them anymore so just forget them. So? Now do you see just how unforgettable of a person I am? Hahahaha now there is no way you can forget about me like Kai did! I was always there for him! I even loved him like a brother! And did he remember any of my kindness? No! He just went and forgot about me just to be with some little boy he saw in a cafe! But now I don't have to worry about being forgotten. Cause you wont forget about me! WILL YOU?
